Although I am not an Aviator, I am a human being and my hat is off to everyone involved in this recovery. You all handled it with the utmost care and compassion for Wayne and his family. I have been a subscriber to your channel for a long time but today you proved to me that I made the right decision to sub to your channel. And to Waynes family, I want to extend my sincerest condolences for your loss. RIP Mr Wirt,

The biggest hero in this story, apart from the man who reared a great family and unfortunately died, was the mother. She is incredibly strong to be able to deal with this situation as gracefully as she did and may her husband forever rest in peace.

Not to discount anything with her, but if not for Dave Sparks, the story would have ended without a hero, just a homeless woman and a wreckage covered slope, thanks to the state and the bank.

As a priest, it is part of my role to offer closure and comfort to the family by offering the respect that every person is due, particularly at the time of death. It is a true ministry to offer what you have offered this family. Blessings to you for this difficult work. It is not surprising that you experienced such peace in doing so. May God bless and others who have cared for this family.

I do agree with this sentiment, and have heart felt condolences. What strikes me odd, being a poor aviation enthusiast is that I cant afford any aviation hobby but here they have plane(s) with magnificent hanger, land, fork lift, jeep, etc.. But no insurance, no money for recovery, and doing a go fund me to recover plane because they couldnt afford insurance & $50k recovery as we see million in assets? Weird. Guess thats how the rich be rich...

I think the part that touched me the most was seeing Diesel Dave doing his thing and supporting Cindy as the plane was moved into the hanger. That therapeutic touch from another person during hard times helps so much.

That's the part that got me too, thank you for noticing! I couldn't be there in that moment for my mom, but when I saw that scene, my heart swelled knowing that they were taking care of her in my place. I have nothing but love for Diesel Dave, Heavy D Sparks, Mark Patey, and everyone else that volunteered their time to get Wayne home. I'm glad you noticed that moment too!

This hits very close to home for me. My dad crashed and perished in his Lancair Legacy in the El Dorado forest in May of 2011. He was supposed to arrive at our ranch in the afternoon but never did. I had the unfortunate burden of getting the process started of trying to locate him. Initially your thoughts go from one of hope that maybe he had to divert to a remote airstrip without any services where he can't get ahold of his family to hoping he's not cold or trapped in the plane and its just a matter of time before he's found alive to the shock that someone has found the wreckage and no one survived. Getting that personal effects bag all sealed up and touching the very items your dad had used bet perished with is still emotional for me. sometimes I will look through his logbook and see the trips we went on and reflect upon it with happiness. It took SAR volunteers 48 hours to find the crash site. All of the things in this video regarding the banks and accounts needing a death certificate to continue paying bills or accessing the money are 100 percent true. I commend you, Ryan McDonald with Northwoods Helicopters, the Pateys and everyone who committed their time and resources to helping this family move on from what can only be described as an instant and complete disruption to the their lives which will have lasting effects for many years. Great job Heavy D!

The gesture alone is heartwarming enough, but the act of recovering what you needed to is amazing. I don't think there's another team of people who could have done that any better, with any more respect or without as much love as being a fellow aviator then you guys. Huge respect for volunteering, and getting it done for the family. My condolences to the family, and I hope the healing can now truly begin. ♥️

It's very rare to see people who are well off doing anything for anyone but themselves these days yet here comes Dave and crew busting their butts and bending over backwards to help people in need every chance they get.
