I just enjoy watching you work with Leroy. The pasture pony running around was adorable. Kory, we are here for you. Love you and take care. Peace.

I'm so glad you're taking the time to work on your mental health. I couldn't do full time rescue work, it would wreck me. It's pretty clear what you're doing now is good for you. I was laughing along with you about horses making you humble. I had ridden horses since I was 4. Then in my preteeens and early teens I was one of the barn brats at a livery stable where I did whatever scut work they needed to work off riding time on the weekends. I rode bareback more than with a saddle, was absolutely fearless, rode all the "wildest" horses at the stable. Continued riding when I could as a younger adult, but it wasn't until I was 28 that I got my first horse. I had never fallen off a horse till that point. I was pretty cocky. I bought an untouched 3 year old Arabian gelding at an auction and did all his training myself. That horse put my butt in the dirt SO MANY TIMES when I finally started riding him at age 4. He could spook, drop a shoulder and fade sideways so fast, he'd be 50 feet away by the time I hit the ground. At least, until I learned to go with it. Haha. Yep. He taught me humble. Eventually we won in English pleasure, trail and command classes, bareback and driving classes at shows. But mostly, we wandered the fields and forests of Wisconsin together. He was my heart horse, my beloved companion of 24 years, till he passed of a sudden stroke at age 27.

So happy to be able to watch you do your magic with horses again. To see your interaction and connection to the horses you are working with is heartwarming. A well trained horse is hopefully safer from the pitfalls of the slaughter pipeline. Thank you for all you do for these beautiful horses.

I like your approach here. Patience. Calmness. Letting him absorb information. I think Steve Young follows along the track you are applying. He is one of the best in my opinion. Your channel will be great and growing quickly. . Watching you develope this guy is wonderful.

Nice. This issue makes me think of my horse back in 2010. She was described as a "cynch binder." We worked through a lot of it but she never completely let go of the behavior. I hope it works well for you and Leroy. Good to see you bravely go forward. Life is not always a straight line. Susan

Do you put all your birds in shelters at night to keep safe from predators? I think it is so cool they can all roam without leaving.

He’s learning he can trust you, even in this session you can tell. Congratulations on taking both your health and your mental health seriously. Horses were always my therapy. I used to let the saddle fall off my filly so she wouldn’t be scared if it happened on a ride. Of course that was after she was completely fine with it. Her reaction, even the first time, was to stop and go back to check it out. No jump, no freak out. She was such an awesome girl.
