Pizza is no joke at this joint. And that's why they've won, like, every award. Ever.
This could be the most decorated pizza on the planet! But when you take pizza as seriously as owner Giovanni Di Palma does, you're bound to win a few awards. Di Palma didn't sacrifice one detail of his family's age-old Pizza Napoletana recipe when he brought it here to Atlanta: Fior di Latta and Mozzarella di Bufala cheeses are flown in fresh from Naples each week; San Marzano and Pomodorini tomatoes are hand-picked in Campania; three 10,000 lb. ovens were custom built from ancient Santa Maria brick and volcanic rock from Mt. Vesuvius...and get so hot that a pizza cooks to perfection in only about 60 seconds.
Yeah. A whole pizza cooks in 60 seconds. Which is great, because -- trust us -- the faster you can get your hands on one of Antico's nine famous pies, the better.
We'd sell our soul for the Diavola pizza, which is made with fresh Mozzarella di Bufala, spicy sopressata, and pepperonata. Another pizza masterpiece -- the San Gennaro -- features fresh mozzarella, broccoli rabe, and salsiccia. The menu also includes calzones and Italian desserts.
Di Palma's fierce loyalty to his family's pizza-making heritage has made Antico's pies world-famous, and a favorite among Atlantans and celebrities alike.

My father is a Neapolitan immigrant who spent his entire childhood in Napoli (He moved to America when he was 17) and I have multiple talented cooks in the family, one of which owns and is head chef at a popular Italian restaurant known for it's great food. To say the least, I know what high quality authentic Italian food tastes like and so does my Father, and both of us agree (along with other family members who have eaten here) this pizza is the real deal.

To me it had an aroma and taste that was kinda strange and not exactly wonderful at first.........But after a few SLICES of pizza it became sort of good tasting and the aroma got more pleasant too......That's my perception anyway........Yours may be different.......

Like I said, this can be the real deal as in real authentic italian pizza, but italian pizza isn't the best. Trust me, most people are dissapointed when they go to Italy to eat pizza. Italy is more famous for their Gelato than their pizza.

This place sucks, they charge you $4 for 8oz can of soda, and make you eat pizza on cheap thin paper towels that break from the grease of the pizza, not to mention how loud and crowded the restaurant is, also there’s only one pizza size, so it is hard to figure out how to order if you can’t get like one medium, and a small, because there’s only one pizza size so you end up spending even more money you might end up spending $100+ for just a family of four to five. but at least the pizza tastes good. But it’s not worth the money, if you consider the experience, I recommended if you want to get pizza from Antico, get takeout and enjoy it at home, because the experience is better when you can eat on plates and not spend over $20 to keep you hydrated.

As a general rule avoid busy restaurants on weekend evenings. I go on a weekday at around 3 o’clock and I’m the only customer there.

the only reason you think this pizza is good is becaue the owner is italian, it is overhyped, and all of the ingredients are straight from italy. You are just another person who buys the hype, and did you even read what I said? I said it is good, but far from the best. Also, why call me a moron, we each have opinions, no need to resort to name calling. Like I said, people around the world go to Italy only to be dissapointed by the pizzas, ice cream is what italy does best.

Awesome place if you like to bite into a floppy pizza pulling all the uncut toppings off in one bite sitting on a wood bench shoulder to shoulder with sweaty patrons in a windowless dungeon that smells like a gym sock ... which is why you should order anchovies as your car gets towed.

are you serious? Have you only eaten Papa Johns/Pizza Hut/Dominoes your entire life? Do you even know what a REAL pizza is supposed to taste like? Don't get me wrong, the pizza isn't that bad. The only thing above average is the crust and the wait time. Everything else isn't even close to the 20 dollar price tag. Go to Europe, and I am sure you will find better pizza around every corner.

Atlanta is not a pizza city so of course it won’t fit many peoples criteria. As a general rule, most pizza places are poor quality outside of the NYC/Jersey/ New England area. So if you do find a decent pizza place in the south, it’s usually expensive and not flexible with your needs
