going into new pulls with 2 lava burst stacks for a boosted healing surge applying 2 flame shocks helps alot. you get 2 free flame shocks + cast your own, now you have 3 flame shocks proccing lava bursts, which then procs more flame shocks through surge healing. This is slightly less dps than chain lightning spam, but it massively increases healing output since your surges will hit like a truck and will be able to heal 2-3 people each cast including procs and talents, and the rotation fuels itself.

I was hard stuck at 2.1k io swapping between enhance and elemental. Said screw it swapped to resto. Watched this video probably three times. Last night I hit 2.5k and have half of all the dungeons timed at a 10 the rest are at 9s!!!!! Thank you for the great guide man this video helped me a ton. I think I am a resto main now.

I looked at WoW heads guide for weak aura but I’m not a huge fan of the big blocky ones that like completely overtake your UI

@ I definitely can, give me a bit to get back around my pc. I will say I take out and customize a lot of the WA’s I do have so I only have certain things tracked and I size down the icons a lot of time. I can always let you know how to do that as well if you run into trouble. A big one I would start with is the Luxthros shaman pack and customize it out. Omnicd the addon is also very helpful

I've been trying out farseer in 11s / 12s and the chainheal / coalescing water build is really great, I play cloudburst and even tho it requires a lot of min maxing, it feels much more rewarding than totemic. Also, I'm never oom, and totemic mana management in higher keys is brutal, especially in pugs

SO much has changed! I took a little break once and the transition back can be rough xD lol I may misunderstand the question? What where you looking for exactly? My UI is "Elvui" which is similar to an addon but not through Curseforge. It also does my nameplates. But if you're just talking about the targeting of spells and things you see on party frames that's a Weakaura and here is the link wago.io/1y3Fh_34A. Hopefully that answered your question but if not just let me know!

Cool guide, farseer is actually busted after the patch though. Coalescing Water is straight up broken and makes high keys a bit of a joke. Yes totemic is easier and still great but I feel like CW/Farseer might be the way to go if you’re trying to push.

Awesome take. I’ve heard it’s great since patch. That being said a little over 95% of all shammy keys are totemic and the top keys in the world timed this week are the same as well. But I’d love to see it make its way into the meta. But tbh I see disc priest going meta before that their buffs really fixed their healing gaps for keys

@@ZwinkleTVyou’re definitely a better player than I am since I’m only just timing 10s but I was thirsty to get better at Farseer and here’s my 2 cents. I struggled with it until about 12 or 13% haste. Then I was still having some burst AOE issues until I personalized my BigWigs and started holding ancestors for some damage moments and using certain spells to force them to chain heal. Before you were only really spot healing with Healing Surge and didn’t want to use that in an AOE window but now that Coalescing Water exists you could be in the middle of a burst AOE rotation in a high damage moment and quick hit the lowest person with a FAT Riptide and then go back to AOE heals. Optimizations plus the new talent makes it feel super flexible and powerful. I believe the only thing keeping Totemic ahead right now are the egregious known bugs with Reactivity and Spouting Spirits. Reactivity is 2x stronger than the tooltip, and Spouting Spirits talent causes a second free Lively Totems buffed Chain Heal to cast rather than 1 and does not reduce healing beyond 5 targets, which matters more in raid but still.

@@Vortexrc1993 is it the shield specifically you’re having an issue healing? To be honest I only grab 2 orbs right before the shield to heal it BUT my dps are soaking more orbs depending on who’s cd, or if you have a dk they can take something like 6 for each set and pop cds. That shield hits very hard and it’s going to mostly come down to your dps breaking it, anything over 6-10 seconds is really not ideal. And as far as just cds I try and hold pretty much all of them outside of healing tide for that shield, I will ascendance one with some HS totems and I’ll have link and HS totems for the other. Usually I use recall if I have it on the link phase for an extra totem.

@ZwinkleTV Thanks for the reply, yeah the shield, I tend to grab the orbs a bit earlier, maybe I should hold off a bit. The shield phase in the groups I've been in has been longer than 6-10 seconds so that isn't helping either I guess

@ yeah I tend you avoid orbs before shield if I can help it and then snag 2 before the shield phase. It trucks man but you’ll get it. A lot of pugging is just finding 4 other people who all know what they need to do.

Isn't the damage calculation at the end of cast instead of when it hits? I couldn't reliably replicate the flame shock after casting meatball

From my understanding/logs no because there is a travel time for your meatball. If you were able to get it just not consistently then it could be either a haste issue or issue of your target simply being too close. Although I would like to point out the main point of that section simply to be weaving in spells instead of hard casting things like your procs. Let me know if you get different results?

Also I did some fact checking and it looks like it was changed after bfa too so that you could guarantee a critical strike if you cast flame shock after the burst. I’ll take a peek at logs later when I’m home to confirm.

I'm pretty sure that's just built into the game if I'm not mistaken. If I am then it has to be part of my Elvui but I'm almost positive, it's a base game thing.

How do you have defensive CDs go vertical on the bars? My party’s defensive CDs are horizontal and look awful on my horizontal party bar, and I’ve had to make my party frames vertical for that reason

thats OmniCD. 1.In chat type /omnicd an addon through Curseforge 2. Go to Dungeons on the left. 3. Go to "Position" second tab in dungeons 4. Look for Layout in the Position tab. 5. Select layout through the drop down menu(mine is double column)

Unless I’m misunderstanding, I don’t think the totemic side of the guide is super accurate. You recommend to spam chain heals but if you mean spam hard cast chain heals, then you’re going to oom fast. The key to playing totemic is taking advantage of lively totems giving you free chain heals, using your cooldown reset for healing stream / CB totem, and using spells like wellspring, unleash life, primordial wave, natures swiftness, and spot healing to heal your team. A lot of what you said is correct but the part about spamming chain heals is either misleading or misguided. Great video otherwise.

That being said no one said to spam chain heal exclusively as your only way of healing and we did go over the importance of using your lively totems and cds before resorting to casting healing in general. We also don’t take any of those talents outside natures swiftness for keys playing totemic. Thanks for the take though I’ll see what I can improve for next time!

As a healer, it's not important to dps now , I have done couple of 14 and 15 keys and never used a single dmg cast , not even flame shock

@Omar-Alsaif just going to be honest, that is a terrible mentality and you are just making it harder for your group. Outside of the fact that you would literally just be sitting there doing nothing for half of the key you’re also making it slower. But you absolutely can just hit healing buttons if that’s really what you want to do. Don’t think that’s ever been debated, just frowned upon.

You should be at least buffing your healing surges with lava burst lol but I do agree in a lot of groups it’s a risk to spend a GCD on a DPS spell if people aren’t topped

@@johndoee4964 I agree shaman is one of the easier healers. Unfortunately healer difficulty doesn’t change key difficulty when you’re pushing 13-14+. Cd usage and using your toolkit properly usually wins that.
