Someone did one heck of a job making these models look distressed almost a shame to restore them although they end up looking great.

I used to be a modeler when I was a kid, and I actually took that as an art back then. I thought outside the box, and found ways to destress or make them look like heaps that have been sitting deteriorating for years. I would find ways to make rust holes, pitting, dents, flat tires collapsed roofs and stuff like that (plastic versions) lol so yeah I’d say you’re spot on!…I didn’t see the low spots linger during blasting stage either.

This truck was obviously "weathered" with paint and washes like you would do for a diorama or in model railroading. It was not a beat up up old rusty toy. This would make it much easier to clean and restore, since you are only removing paint and not rust and pitting. Still the paint job looks amazing in the end.

Honestly that F-150 model reminds me of the temporary vehicle my Dad was given to drive while awaiting the first production model of the Ford Ranger XLT edition in 1987. Honestly, I wish my Dad would've given me the F-150 instead!
