Excellent video. Foolishly just managed to break (too much fiddling to adjust the rate and beat error!) a rather nice Raketa with the same 2609 HA movement.

Tip for future restaurations: never, never ever oil the pallet fork pivot jewels. Never, as the oil will find its way to the ballance jewel in the fork slot adn render useless the watch service and precision . And also, as an advice ( I used to do the same in the beginning) you're using in general a bit to much oil. I would also be curious how do you service the barrel and the main spring? Have fun!

Hello, do all the 2609.ha movements have the same size dial, I got a raketa on the way with a black dial and white numbes. It has a white circle in the middle but the dial is broken in two. I want to get a replacement but finding the same dial is hard so I was thinking about getting a different one that could also fit. Thank you for the awsome video👌

Nice restoration! Do You have a Time Grapher yet? I'd be interested how well these old Soviet time pieces keep time serviced after all these years. As we saw the previous owner had not treated the poor watch properly at all. 😱

@vintage_watch thanks for the lesson! My friend had her basement flood to the ceiling. unfortunately one of the many things damaged was her father in law 's Raketa 2609.ha watch. I'm a beginner when it comes to restoration. I'm learning as much as I can and having a blast! Nothing moves yet in the watch due to water damage and rust. Watching you...well I'm feeling kind of intimidated now...lol...so many tiny moving parts! Great tip with the putty on a toothpick! Can I use the oil from my sewing machine or do I need a certain kind? Can you please tell me where you sourced the crystal? This is clearly a quality watch! I have precision tools. What is that awesome drill basket attachment? I could totally use that for small parts! I use "metal rescue " after cleaning with oxi palm olive degreasing dish soap for most things...metal rescue is similar to "evaporust ". The stuff is amazing on any metal and not an acid. Can be filtered and reused. What product did you use in the jar? After watching this...think I'll practice on cheaper ones first...lol. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Thanks again for the lesson . I have to admit I grinned when I saw the first movement...well done!

@vintage_watch I forgot to tell you...there's a product I use when making jewellery you might be interested in. It's called "tool magic". It starts off like a runny silicone. I dip my plier tips in it then prop them open tips up on a glass edge over night to cure. Because of the consistency, it coats the tips with a thin protective layer. It protects easily damaged surfaces from the marks pliers can leave. It peels off easily and does need to be replaced occasionally. Hope this helps

hi friend, thank you for your feedback, no, you can’t use other oils, only a little for watches, and detergents are needed for watches, if you don’t have them somewhere to buy, you can replace them with detergent for jewelry and an ultra sonic bath

Nice restoration, I have russian watches and these of soviet time are the most interesting, today the price is higher and the quality is similar although the cases and bracelets are better, the machinery is almost the same of the soviet era, simple and reliable.
