I am a retro console collector and I also restore consoles. I love to watch other people doing it and I like your style. You could do more Atari consoles. That is a great idea. Greetings from Germany

Hi there! I'm happy to hear that there's people all over watching! Would love to visit Germany one day! Thank you for the compliment. I try to mix it up a little but I did restore five other consoles. Check them out on my channel. Here are a couple. My wife also likes your videos! Europe is an interesting continent. I would also love to go to North America. Thank you but I have already watched all your videos. Really great work!

@@Oribaa90 All of them, wow that's great! Yes certainly interesting, my wife is from Poland and still has family in both Germany and Poland. My grand parents are also from Europe. Sadly I am the only one who has not been! Thanks to you both for watching!

I had one just like that when I was 8 brings back so many memories. Well done!
@RetroRepairGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marilyn. Yeah me too! I had an even older one that was made in a triangle with targets on the TV but it's vague and I know it was not Atari. But this one certainly brings back memories! Thanks for watching!

another great video...i remember playing that unit before i had my 1st atari 2600....what can i say of Mrs. RRG, she always looks amazing and her hair cut suits her so well. sorry you had to play tennis however that park looks so familiar, can't figure out which one it is....looks like Parc Herbert.....would like to see the famicom restore
@RetroRepairGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wally! I was waiting for your comments! 😂 Yeah I still love the Atari 2600 and have one with Mrs. Pac-Man! Mrs. RRG used to always have short hair, she just went back to it and I think it suits her the best! Plus 1 for Famicon, I don't even know if it works at all. Let's put it to a vote!

Super thorough job, great filming too! (I've had success using marker pens on scratches btw).

Hi Kurt and welcome to the channel! Thank you for the compliment. I try to remove all the scuff marks with the white sponge but I've been hesitant in using markers or repainting some of this old stuff to keep it as original as possible. But you are right it certainly camouflages the scratches pretty well. Maybe one day I'll have the courage! Thanks for watching!

I had an radio shack pong console (clone) and the name radio shack called there's the TV Scoreboard. I stupidly sold it and mine came in the OG box and had the manual.
@RetroRepairGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Radio Shack? They also sold the Atari Pong? Wow I just learned something! I thought it was exclusive to Sears. Was it sold as an Atari or a Tandy? Let me know and thanks for watching!
@dmcintosh19672 жыл бұрын
@@RetroRepairGuy it guess I should said a clone of atari's pong. The radio shack TV Scoreboard was very similar to Atari version and I'm not sure who made it for radio shack. Sorry for miss leading you.
@dmcintosh19672 жыл бұрын
You can find my example in the 1978 radio shack catalog page 122 and is the cheap B/W model
@RetroRepairGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@dmcintosh1967 No it's OK not misleading. They say Magnavox sued Sears, Atari, Bally and "many others" so they were probably part of the gang. I just wasn't aware that Radios Shack had also something similar back in the day. Thanks for the info!
@RetroRepairGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@dmcintosh1967 I believe I have a PDF of that catalogue I will look that up! Thanks again for the information.

For the screws between the base and the console itself - mine are two kinda odd tri-wing head? How did you deal with those?
@RetroRepairGuy Жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry been a while I had to look at the video again. You mean the screws at 9:13 in the video? I see from the kit in front of me in the video it's security screws. They sell different kits on amazon. This is the one I had amzn.to/3Gr8c6Q but it was not perfect for this screw but was able to use one of the "U" shaped ones. Thanks for watching!
@MichaelJantzen42 Жыл бұрын
@@RetroRepairGuy Yup 9:13 - ok so I wasn't sure what they were - I feel like I've seen every single kind of security screw ever - at first they almost looked like plastic rivets. Anyhow mine doesn't power on at all, and I wanted to composite mod it, but I got slightly stumped the other night :).
@RetroRepairGuy Жыл бұрын
@@MichaelJantzen42 They are screws and they are special. As I said it wasn't an exact match. I have almost every bit for Nintendo and other security screws and none were a perfect match but it works. Check the diodes and see if power is getting to the main chip. The schematic is available from multiple sources online and easy to find.

Too bad i didn’t bought the sears tele games VI system because i consider that much better of the atari super pong version because it does have detachable controllers and it does have the wooden stylish look wich the atari super pong version lacks,if only i knew,i probably would,ve think twice for buying it.
@RetroRepairGuy Жыл бұрын
Yeah I like the look and faux wood finish. The paddles extend very far as well as they give lots of cable. It's actually for sale on my website if you still want to own it!
