Welcome to Restoration And Metal. In this video is an axial conveyor gearbox or a winch gearbox. A very useful device for the construction industry, conveyors. They were forgotten at my friend's farm. With a love of restoration I struggled to get this shaft-mounted conveyor gearbox back. They are very rusty at about 86kg. You need a proper sandblasting device for your further project. And, don't forget to grind over casting residue on the surface of the material.

Just from what we saw it looks like it could work out well in the appropriate application. All the gears mesh, the bearings all turn, so it looks good to go.

I was concerned about the heat on the gears ⚙️ and on the housing. I wonder if heating up steel like that would actually weaken it to the point where there might be some stress? Probably shortening the life to the gearbox? Besides that, i think he’s done a marvelous job.I wish you would have wired a motor to make it work. 😆
