The Volkswagen Beetle-officially the Volkswagen Type 1, informally in German the Käfer (meaning "beetle"), in parts of the English-speaking world the Bug and known by many other nicknames in other languages-is a two-door, rear-engine economy car, intended for five occupants (later, Beetles were restricted to four people in some countries), that was manufactured and marketed by German automaker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003.
The need for a people's car (Volkswagen in German, and in the English-speaking world in the early 20th century as "folks' wagon"), its concept and its functional objectives were formulated by the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, who wanted a cheap, simple car to be mass-produced for his country's new road network.

This made me sentimental. My dad had a VW Bug, an early 60's model. He used to let me steer. The both the car and my Pop are gone now. Later, I had a VW Transporter bus that I loved and made many trips cross country in. This was a heart-touching restoration for me. Thanks.

I would have to say, that the Beetle Model had been deliberately made to look like the body was very heavily-rusted. A good effect. But we all know that the Die Cast Alloy Body could never degrade in such a way. I had to admire the work involved, in the mixing of a "Rust Compound" and then painting this all over the body - for a better effect. So, hats-off to the pre-restoration work, that not many would notice - had taken place.

I absolutely agree with you! Almost all of these "Restoration" channels do this same stupid trick and think people won't call them on it. But hey, he's got over a million subs so he should keep doing it for the stupid people out there.

i notice on some of his newer videos he is getting inventive, and drilling holes then using a small round file to roughen up the end of the hole to make it look natural. Since when did die-cast aluminum rust? One point four million suckers out there lapping it up .
