This is insane! Amazing work, wow. I just got into photo restoration yesterday with zero prior experience with any kind of photo editing. Got the 7 day photoshop free trial atm and with a few youtube videos under my belt I thought I was doing great! This is just mind-blowing though and gives me so much motivation to keep learning more. Thank you so much for sharing your talent!

Very fun to watch, but like others, I too would be interested in an explanation of what you are doing. For example, what is that mesh overlay you show now and then? Also, I don't see that brush tool with the droplet with my tools. What is that? Seems like you use that a lot. And why all the little black dabs toward the beginning?
@alexantphotorestoration48303 жыл бұрын
Black smears are a Fourier filter. The tools are all standard photoshop, they are usually by default in tool groups. I'll write down the lessons as soon as I have time.

@@alexantphotorestoration4830 I have a current subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and I don't see the FFT filter. I do see some older results on a Google search saying you have to download it. Will keep looking... I do see the mixer brush tool but it looks a little different than yours. I presume it's the same but will have to look up how it works. Thanks.
@alexantphotorestoration48303 жыл бұрын
@@FourKnown Yes, FFT is a separate filter, you need to download it and install it in the plugins folder. Yes, I mainly use a mix brush, the tool icons may differ slightly in different versions of the program.

@@alexantphotorestoration4830 I have a 1908 photo of my grandmother in front of her 1-room school house on the prairie in Nebraska with her students. It's the first photograph I restored I think over twenty years ago. It's kind of rough with some feet missing, etc. But I feel I could do a much better job of it now and would like to try. But, like many people, I use a limited number of tools. I know it would help to learn some of the tools you are using. Thanks for your excellent videos!
@alexantphotorestoration48303 жыл бұрын
@@FourKnown Yes, there are a lot more convenient editing tools now than 20 years ago. As soon as there is time, I will make a playlist of various instruments during restoration.
