When you do a restoration and a good clean up of a knife like that, its hard to let it go. you keep it close to you all day you wipe it down 50 times and look at it from all directions. that what we knife enthuses do. Looks pretty good HT. I think you took it to just the right level of cleaning it up. Nice work. I have tried doing leather work in the past and I simply did not have the patience to work with it. There are a bunch of guys I follow in our community on KZbin that I would talk to about building me a sheath.

I would actually be curious and remove the tape, I kinda want to see if it’s just the seems or if it’s totally gone. Maybe it just needs to be restitched. I had no doubt that you could get that knife back to excellent condition. Great job! As for the sheath, i would pull the tape of and see how bad it is. Maybe it could be used as a pattern to make a new sheath for the knife. Just my thoughts. You and your family have a wonderful evening brother and God Bless.

I call myself a collector of schrade and Camillus but I do not have one of those folding hunter , nice sized , but I am going to try n stop here . 67 years old,,, maybe after I sell a couple dozen other knives or STUFF. I think that 165 is perfect. I almost bought a new sheath for mine,,,, almost… I still see some new old stock schrade sheaths pop up .🤔 maybe.
