I remember the whole airport terminal shaking and rumbling with the sound of the Concorde taking off from Miami International or Heathrow… It was crazy, but people knew it was the Concord leaving so there was no panic.

They say they decommissioned the Concord because of the noise, but that’s a lie. They did it because of the altitude. It’s plainly obvious when you’re cursing at 70,000 feet, and you look out the windows and see that the horizon is at eye level on both sides - that the earth is flat
