Incredible. You’ve built something beautiful that you can always be proud of. And kudos to your wife, too. From a guy who’s been married for 25 years, I know you can’t take on a project like this without a very special partner.

Congrats! I watched most of your videos on this project. My first boat was a Glastron 156 with a Johnson 70hp three-cylinder engine. I got it used with a trailer for next to nothing, enjoyed it for years, and sold it for next to nothing. It was reliable, hassle-free and a lot of fun. I pulled it behind a Dodge Omni 4-cylinder car with no problems whatsoever. We skied behind it, fished and just explored the waterways around Melbourne Florida. I miss that boat. I wish I still had it, although I would probably not be up for such a huge refurbishment project as you did. Thanks for the memories.

Again you are too kind! I definitely had a hard time wiping the smile off my face the first time I took the boat out. I dreamed about that day forever it seems and when it finally became real it made me feel like a kid on Christmas morning. If you're rebuilding a boat my advice is hang in there and don't let anyone tell you not to waste your time. It took me longer than I wanted, but I would do it all over again because it was worth it.

Well done, Josh and greetings from Sydney, Australia. Thanks for the series which I have been watching avidly for over 6 years. I bought a V156 six years ago having admired them for over 50 years.. Your series came up at the right time and inspired me to restore my boat , and so I have now done so. It was a very challenging but an enjoyable and worthwhile project. Congratulations and thank you again for providing such a timely , fantastic and informative series which enabled me to embark on one of the most enjoyable, sentimental, emotional and productive times in my life. I wish you fair winds and calm seas and happy boating in one of the world's classic boats.

Great job on boat. I purchased 1974 V156 with a 70 hp Evinrude on it .I can do 28 to 30 mph pulling a slollem skier with 2 adults and 2 children in boat. I did go to a 4 blade prop. for a quicker plane. I was wondering what your 85 hp can do for WOT speed.Again great job, wish I had your drive so I could do same to my Glastron.

I have the same boat, even the color. Mine has a 3 cylinder Johnny 60 hp. It needs all the same as yours. Was going to send to the great boat yard in the sky. I think I'm going to do what you did. One exception, no glass work. Salt treat stringers and salt treat plywood, all held in with liquid nails PE adhesive. Seen other guys do it, should work with treated wood. I'm not glassing anything so it will stick with the glue and should rot for 50 yrs. I'll be 110 years old when it needs to come out again
