Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were my 1st cousins 15x removed. It was nice to see their final resting places.

How can you be 1st cousin to Ann Boleyn as she only had Elizabeth and no other children. Do you mean Mary boleyn as she had I think about 3-4 children ❤

This was my church I attended when I was in London teaching. I donated to having the organ renovated. Oliver Cromwell is buried there. Beautiful.

So much history on this site. Most of St. Peter Ad Vincula was roped off due to restoration work when I visited so this was a treat to see the memorials. Many thanks!

More fabulously preserved and honored history in London. It did surprise me that this chapel was rebuilt by King Henry 8th. A beautiful chapel and resting place of monarchs and mint carriers. The grounds are very lovely and so pristine. I shall look up Lady Jane Grey. Enjoyed this video very much! Great capture of the chapel interior and exterior. I also enjoyed a bonus of showing the pillow memorial built by Queen Victoria. A unique and curious sculpture and beautiful.

The Tower and it's chapel never cease to amaze. Excavations of graves recently discovered while building a wheelchair ramp to the chapel shed fascinating aspects to the chapel and the Tower. Such a wellspring of history, and worth an entire day. Thank for sharing.

The fact that it was, and still is, a functioning community, as well as a tourist attraction, to this day is just amazing. I wonder how many of the staff that live and/or work on site have just "had a little wander" around the place to check out some of the areas the rest of us will never get to see (like the crypt)? I know I would...😉

The Yeoman Warders know the history because they take the visitors around the sights. They are senior rank ex servicemen /women and are well prepared for their tasks.

I recognized the name from Ann Boleyn being buried there. What a beautiful chapel. I love old churches they just have something about them, like the smell. Wished I could see all the Tower of London, it looks such a beautiful place despite its history.

Comming from Australia, it was amazing to walk around the Towers grounds. To know these people where imprsend and died there just blew my mind. I didn't get to see this as I think it was still under restoration or I could have just missed it. So much to see. Thanks for this.

Arthur Capell, the Earl of Essex, was the nephew of my ancestor William Capell who immigrated to Virginia USA in 1635. I am related to him through my late mother's paternal lineage "Capell." Over the past 300 years , the spelling has changed here in the U.S.to Capel, Cable, Chapple, Caples, etc. and now CAPLE. My mother's siblings consisted of 6 sisters and one brother who passed away just recently. I visited your Chapel during a visit to London in April 1975. Is there a grave marker inside the Chapel for the Earl of Essex? I would like to return to England one day to visit some of my other ancestral homes, etc. The late Princess Diana was also a descendant of this family lineage via Mary Capell Somerset.

Sorry, this comment for some unknown reason was blocked and just happened to see it now! That is quite some line, wow! So many graves there I don't recall seeing that one - if and when I go back I'll be aware of it. Thanks so much for watching and also for sharing this wonderful info with us :)

@@LondonVisited I also don 't recall seeing his grave while visiting the Chapel in London, but that is where he is supposedly buried. Hopefully, I will get return sometime in the near future. I think he was beheaded & quartered just like King Charles I. There are quite a few Capell graves at the St. Mary's Church in the original hometown of late Princess Diana's childhood home. St. Cecilia's Church in Little Hadham, Hert. Is where many of the older Capell ancestors are buried. Perhaps, his grave may have been moved there later on by his family.

Cromwell actually had 2 of my ancestors, who were Royal loyalists, executed! I met one of Cromwell's direct descendants at my last place of employment. It was quite scary because she had a very strong resemblance to him. It actually sent chills up my spine! What are the chances of meeting a descendant of someone who was your ancestor's executioner? She knew about her ancestor's history as well as mine. To the best of my knowledge, Miss Cromwell was not an evil person. She was a rather quiet, well mannered person and taught school before moving on to other endeavors.
