Restored Kyosho Nexus 30

I bought one of these new around 98 or 99. Spun it up on the ground a few times but could never get the guys to fly it and sold it. Nice restoration.

I just purchased a nice Nexus 30, and I'm in the process of rebuilding her. It had less than 1 tank of fuel ran through it, and the PO couldn't get the servos and trim set, so he sold it and I bought it. I like this old bird, and hope to have a video of her up and running soon.

It's a fantastic sport RC helicopter, for the price and time. I really wish they would release it again... I restored mine and have retired it. The collective system is so nice..

Just got an old Kyosho Nexus going this summer!

I am digging into one now that has been in storage for over 20 years. Looks to have a couple mods (aftermarket enya ss35 engine and blue anodized fan) Got the engine freed up, lubricated linkages and bearings, got new radio gear and fuel tank on the way. Been a fun project with my son.

I get that little pitch wobble too. I may have figured out a major deal with mine. The shrink tube or heat shrink was very loose and the heli was all over the place. Re-heated the rotorblade wrap and it made the helicopter much more stable in a hover. I could have missed that in your video but mine was super loose!

Okey. That can be a major couse for the wobble. My wobble was because of the low headspeed. More rpm and the heli became more stable.

Enjoyed the video, thanks. I do GMPs but have been looking at Kyoshos lately too. I would have been concerned about what looked like a lot of aluminum powder all over the frames, or was it something else?

I happened into an Nexus 30 about three years ago and bought it. My issue is how to setup with a modern radio. Please share your radio settings details with me so I might have a chance to get this classic bird back in the air where she belongs. I'd probably use a Turnigy 9x, or a DX6i. Thanks in advance for the advise :-)

Hi there. You install everything just the way you do with the old radios. Make sure you have the right swashplate settings on your radio.
