Restored of Tamiya RC 1/10 TA03F, TA-03F Chassis PART 2

I had the same kit when I was a young lad, back when it first came out, I’m 36 now and still own it, I use to race it, I hopped it up, bearings, carbon chassis, low friction dampers, I had two sets of the roll bars, recently rebuilt it in lockdown for something to do, to find I forgot I even shimmed all the suspension arms to remove all the slop. Some real effort went into building this car, I raced Tamiyas for a long time and and put all this effort into them to keep up with the higher end cars like the t-tech predator and the Schumacher sst. This was by far the best Tamiya chassis I ever raced with. Bought back a lot of memories rebuilding this car. If the spares were as easy to get as they use to be and all the parts were available still I’d probably race it again.

what size shim did you use on the arms?

@@airtec87 I keep loads of 3mm I’d shims from 0.1 to 0.5mm Mine only needed if I remember 0.3mm of shims. I get airsoft shim packs as there much cheaper than hobby specific ones. It’s a case of trial and error on what you will need for your car as they are all different if they been used mate

I have the Kure GTR of that model, m just updating some modern electronic and m going to the local on road track for testing. Watching the build.

I have a TA 03 SW ( Porsche TAISAN) and the stabilizers are a must . Ihave a question : Were are you from ? To me your accent is pretty strong . I'm from Germany .

Please don't get me rong for someone who doesn't speak English as their mothertongue , your accent is very heavy and my English is very rusty . I have some Tamiya streets and racing models , for example the 30 th anniversary Porsche 934 (1:10) a TA 04 pro with all the extensions that existed , the TAISAN Porsche 911 GT2 and a few more .

I just bought a complete ta03f evo5 im just wondering the pinion on the motor is exposed is that how its ment to be ?

You should rub the scores out with 800 , then 1200 wet and dry rubbing down paper and finish it off with T- cut by polishing the scores out. It will then look like brand new. Ps…..l also have the TA03 SW Audi, got er pre owned from eBay, it’s in great condition. Pps…..what is a fair price for a drive belt.
