I'd be so afraid to use the rotary brush on expensive kicks in case it damages the material. Which rotary brush is that?

I want to sole swap my opiums, but I’m not sure what donor to use because the OG air unit is green and I’m not sure how to retain the sole and apply them to the donor midsole… hope I can learn a bit from this!
@VintageKicksGallery3 жыл бұрын
Honestly the outsoles can be really tricky to pull off depending on how much they were worn. The first option is to do what I did with the boiling water but instead of pouring it in the shoe, pour it in the container so the sole is somewhat submerged. I'd wait 3-5 min and see if you can start to pull it off. Once you start it, use acetone to pry the outsole away from the midsole- you do this by pulling the outsole away from the midsole and dumping acetone as you pull. Just go slow and be careful! Also keep in mind that the acetone is going to make the midsole expand and you should wait a day or so before putting it back on. Let me know if that helps!
@UNDFTDONE3 жыл бұрын
@@VintageKicksGallery the original soles are almost about to separate completely from the midsole on both shoes. I’m guessing it will be tough to do that on a newer 180 shoe

man... with the boiling water they came off like it was nothing. did not expect that
@VintageKicksGallery3 жыл бұрын
With older Air Maxes, the soles just falls right off (most of the time) but with the newer stuff you have to pry it a bit. There's def a sweet spot on the timing of the water too. Generally you can kind of see it spilling out over the midsole and that's when you know they're ready.

Besides the fact that your shoe collection is ridiculous after watching your videos your shirt collection is equally as good. I know this shirt is custom but dropping some merch would be dope maybe eventually sneaker cleaning kits

I have a few new designs i'm going to drop in the next month or so. I want to do one design per month and limit it to one month availability then retire it. We'll see if I can actually pull that off though..

Good content!! Why don't you do these work in another place? I think you have too little space to do things comfortably, also your table is really small... And I cannot lie, I always cringe when you use the rotary brush because foam always flies everywhere and it could maybe stain some of your shoes in some way? Anyway don't take me wrong, I enjoy the content that you bring and I get that the room adds a lot to the videos atmosphere, but you could work much more comfortably in a bigger space imo.
@VintageKicksGallery3 жыл бұрын
You're definitely right. It's pretty hard working at that table but the new area for filming isn't going to be ready for a bit yet. I'm planning on a move and that's when I'll revamp everything. As far as the suds getting on everything- I am nuts about cleaning everything down after I'm done cleaning there. You'd be surprised at how far that stuff flies!
