After months of work, I have restored my 50-year-old Bridgeport Milling Machine. I had to make it my own so I gave it an Iron Man / Stark Industries theming. This was a lot of work but the results make me very happy and the Bridgeport has become a useful addition to my workshop. I feel like I've leveled up my machining XP on this one.
Special thanks to my trade school instructors Tommy and Craig for their help rigging and moving the mill for me. And thanks to ‪@HWMachRepair‬ for all the great videos showing how to rebuild a Bridgeport.

That color scheme is almost sacrilegious in the machining industry which is why I LIKE IT! Definitely a class act! I hope to be acquiring one soon so I may have to try and one up you on the colors. It all depends upon it's needs and my ambition. Well done video.

Having a Bridgeport in your garage: 10/10 on the badassery meter. Beautiful job. I ran one of these in the late 80s. They're amazing.

I think the paint scheme is awesome! I have wanted a Bridgeport Mill forever and really hope to be able to find the right one for me when my shop gets built (Probably 2 years out at least). I just don't have room in my garage for any more equipment :( I work wood and metal and dabble in a bit of forging and fabricating so it is packed out to its max for now haha!

Man, that was a lot of work & kudos for just being able to keep up with all those parts you pulled off... Looks great, though! I initially thought it might have been a Crow T Robot thing, but Stark Industries makes more sense ;)

Your money mate do as you please, you did not do a refurbishment on your machine, you gave it a paint job. A refurbished machine would have all ways scraped back to as new specs, all bearings inspected and replaced especially spindle bearings. Good luck it looks in pretty reasonable shape from a operational perspective.

I may be mistaken, but the orangish color primer uncovered is probably 'red lead'.

The spirit of some of these comments is a little meh, but I have to agree slightly that this was a great opportunity to measure/scrape some obviously worn ways. As long as it doesn't impact your use case, though, who cares? Not every project needs every last drop of accuracy or precision.

Really, way more showing off the comic book colors than talking about what and how you did it. Plus, you left all the holes to the precision surfaces uncovered so that the dust from removing the paint was allowed in. Too bad you're messing up those precision 50 year old surfaces to paint it like you're a early comic book teen.

What? He literally just cleaned and painted a machine. If you don't like his paint scheme, that's your problem. You're free to go buy it and bring it back to the factory puke green-gray color lol.

In my opinion he has shown his labor of love and further more he is an artist. I also believe that it runs way better now than what the previous owner had on his hands. Right?

Looks good but how does it work? It seems all you have done is strip it, clean it and paint it. Looking good is the least important aspect of a milling machine - it's how accurate it is. Even good Bridgeports were never the most accurate of machines and this one is over 43 years old. How much wear does the machine have? You've made it look brand new (sort of) but it could be totally worn out. Can you tell us what checks and measurements you did and what the accuracy of this machine is?
