Restoring a foxbody that has been sitting for years EP: 1

In the first video of the series we pick up my uncles foxbody that has been sitting for 5 years. we address some of the issues with the car, clean it out, and wash it.

Great enthusiasm young man. You are a genuine car guy for sure. That car is going to look great soon with you involved. That surface rust in the trunk. Just get a grinder and put a wire wheel attachment on it. Make sure to wear long sleeves and eye protection. Those metal wires will stab you in the arms and eyes. Once you've wire wheeled the metal clean. Then with a paint brush and a bowl full of rust converter. Brush the metal floor. Let that sit over night. Next day wire wheel it all again and repeat brushing with rust converter. Do this anywhere you can that has rust. After doing so make sure to prime with edging primer, epoxy primer. The epoxy seals in the metal so it won't rust again. Don't just use cheap sandable primer. That doesn't seal. That only builds. After priming. Paint with whatever color you want. Don't just leave it primer. You need to paint it to seal in the primer. Can't wait to see the end results.

It’s also probably leaking water around those door window seals, available at foxrestoration in NC or LMR in Texas, I replaced mine recently, can’t wait to see the process on getting her back on the road👊🏻🦊

That Vortech intake is like gold compared to the stock 5.0L intakes. As soon as I buy a house out here in Arizona, a 90-93 Fox body Mustang is going in the garage.

Hold on to that vortech intake.. its super rare.. saleen used it on their sc mustangs.. its basically the first generation of the holley system max.. nice work on bring another fox back to glory.. what a grear color combo as well.. 👍👍👍

Me and my uncle are trying to get more content on the car soon but the pandemic messed a lot of that up. there should be some more vids on the car in due time.👍

Sorry for the late reply. Everything is good just trying to find time to start working on it again. We started fixing it right when COVID hit so it got put on the back burner due to the corona virus. I’m hoping that we can start working on it this summer. Thanks 🙏🏾

Take it from someone who has owned a Fox for thirty years... that car is a mess. It needs everything. The only thing worth anything is the upper intake and the center caps on the rims (those things are $50 each). The whole body needs to be stripped to bare metal, you need to pull the engine and trans, and you need a whole new interior. Do you really have the time and money for this? Sell it to someone who has the resources. Looks like you already did as this is the only video in your "restoration" series.

Jesus man relax😂. The car is not sold its still at his house and there are no future plans on selling it no matter how rough it is currently. At the time of filming this video the car wasn't in bad shape tbh and most of the stuff you mentioned wasn't really necessary at the time. We did honesty have intentions of continuing with the restoration, but some things happed along with me living in Georgia and the car being in South Carolina. It's always been an ultimate goal of mine to get this car back on the road again because it's been in the family for so many years. But right now, it's just a matter of finding time/figuring out a way to do so. sorry to disappoint you but we are trying, we both have lives and other projects a well.
