Thank you! To be honest - by the time I had finished that table (I took my time, maybe a month), that I had forgotten how bad it was too until I went to edit all the footage!

Thank you! This was my second time using the pigment and shellac method, I definitely have room to improve but it's really quite a forgiving method compared to paints.

Wow! Beautiful but such a lot of work! Was surprised by the number of finishes you applied. Did you sell it or keep it?

Thank you! If there is no veneer repairs needed I would usually skip that shellac stage. You can just use the Scandinavian Oil alone, but for pieces that might see more water spills and hard wear and tear, I like to add the poly on top as well. I sold this one, but I have an identical one of my own, and another one to refinish at some point too. It never ends!

Thank you! I actually got these pigments at a local arts store, but the person told me that it doesn't matter what brand/where you get them, they are all from the same natural sources. Maybe try this UK source colouredearthpigments.co.uk/

Wow! That is beautiful. I recently decided to start restoring furniture. My first piece is a vintage oak dresser, thank goodness no veneer. lol I have another piece, a small vintage side table that has swelling on a corner. It has veneer where it’s swelled, but the actual edges are solid wood. If I may, I’d like to ask a question about how you fixed your table. I saw that you added a bit of water to the glue. Since particle board reacts to water, would using the wood glue without water make a better fix so you wouldn’t need to use filler afterwards? Or am I just completely uneducated because I am definitely not an expert by any means, I was just curious. Thank you for sharing your videos with us, your restorations are beautiful 💖

Thank you! The reason I thinned the glue out with some water is because the syringe was so small that it wouldn't be possible to get straight glue through. I only used a little bit to get it thin enough. It would definitely be better to use straight glue, but because of how thin the gap was, only that small syringe would work. That being said, with that small amount of water mixed into the glue, and the clamping force of it, I don't expect it to cause any problems. The reason I had to use the filler is that even with the chipboard dug out, and the veneer glued and clamped down, it still wasn't perfectly flush with the edge trim, so I used the filler to even it out :)
