I like that you approach these the same way I approach restoring tools from the 1800s. Get it back to working like new but leaving the history and battle scars on it.

Very nice. I'm sure you know this, but if you don't or anyone else doesn't, you can send your Kershaw knives back to the factory and they will replace the blade for you. It's very, very inexpensive. I have a 20+ year old Leek that I have managed to keep up with. Several years ago, I broke the tip, just like you see in many of your Kershaw finds. I emailed them and asked them about replacing the blade. They said to send it in... I included a note that state that I was doing something stupid with it, certainly prying something and was not asking for warranty assistance. They sent me an email about a week after I sent it to them, said to send them $7 for return shipping and my knife would be on the way back! I got it back and it had a brand new, razor-sharp blade in it. Still carry it everyday.

Thank you for sharing. I like making the new tips. If i didn't enjoy it that much I would probably send them in. Another possible issue with this though, if you send in a USA made Kershaw you would likely get a China made back if they couldn't repair it. Thanks again for sharing and the support!
