I love how beautifully the Japanese prepare food and how they genuinely enjoy serving others! It is always a treat to eat Japanese style! I can't imagine how long it takes to clean ALL THOSE dishes at each meal! lol.

Oh yes! The preparation and presentation of Japanese dining is an amazingly involved process. A Kaiseki meal is just as much about the presentation as the quality of the food. Its artwork. Chidori-san at Maruyama Village was absolutely a delight and has become a dear friend. The meals we've had from Muraki-san of Hiwanokura Restaurant are the best and most memorable we've ever had in all our Japan travels. Its a surprise to find such an amazingly high quality restaurant in such a rural setting. Thanks for watching and following!

Yes, the meals last about 2 1/2 hours, but are so enjoyable. The community has an inspiring history and its the most authentic place we've ever stayed.

That’s a very nice village, I wonder how much to stay there in seven days?

Yes, it is an absolutely wonderful hidden gem of a place. The setting is lovely and the people are so gracious. It is the most genuine experience we've had with an overnight stay; and that is saying a lot as Josephine was born and raised in Japan as was her father, grandfather and great-grandfather. It is not inexpensive, however, you end up with an entire house with three bedrooms, two full baths and a gourmet breakfast each morning made right there before your eyes. We paid $336 per night in April when this was filmed, and about the same back in November. So if one has the budget, its actually a good value, however it isn't for everyone. I placed a link in the description of the video, so you can inquire directly. Chidori-san is the manager for the village and she is a delight. Tell her "John-san" sent you! Thanks for watching and commenting! We really appreciate it as we are just starting our foray into KZbin so every view and subscriber is greatly appreciated!

Oh another question please, if there’s 3 couples, is per night price still the same? Thanks

Apologies for the delayed reply. Since the rate includes breakfast, it may be more with the additional guests. Just reach out to the manager, Chidori at yoyaku@maruyama-v.jp. She’ll be glad to help with any questions. Tell her Haynes-san sent you! Thanks again for watching and commenting!
