I wish the bison could run wild like whitetail and mule deer, pronghorn, elk and moose, without being on a preserve.

'Kill Every Buffalo You Can! Every Buffalo Dead Is an Indian Gone' Those were the words of a U.S. Army colonel in 1867. Eight years later, General Phil Sheridan went as far as to commission medals to reward anyone who brought pelts from dead bisons.

Just a note. I had a giggle when there was a line about restoring a natural system and the first species shown is the pheasant, an import from East Asia. I do support your mission and ideas though. Heard about you through the Meat Eater podcast with Steven Rinella.

Mustangs help destroy the ecosystem of the Great Plains, a major catastrophe. We should concentrate more on replacing the mustangs with Bison
@obiwahndagobah95434 жыл бұрын
Mustangs are not destroying it. It is the same with other grazing animals, that when the natural predators are absent, they can become too numerous. But on the public lands where mustangs live they are in low density, whereas the livestock permitted to graze there is multiple times that number. So who is destroying the land? Bison and horses are both native to North America, though the horse was hunted to extinction by the first humans setting foot on American soil.

this is funny because we raise bison and so much of what is said here does not actually mean anything Bison fart, burp and groan on a continuous basis, we have a few dozen on 3 thousand acres of land. They are just like cattle they prefer hay to foraging and while they calve easily, they prefer to be in the barn.

..I think bison has not straight horns like some 9f those animals.

Because the buffolo is not main food source anymore for the native Indians they av a chance to surrive again its ironic the American government tried to wipe out the natives an the buffolo as well thank god there still here both are survivers

They need to import the European bison and breed them with Americans. They will be bigger and better
@dougmc6665 жыл бұрын
This video is about the Plains Bison, the Wood Bison is bigger than the European Bison.
