I do a lot of full restorations but sometimes a bit of paint on lesser quality wood (and especially plastic laminate coated wood, or Formica) can keep something structurally sound from being tossed just because it’s a bit rough or dated cosmetically. But I like to restore certain woods whenever possible. 🙂

I know nothing about woodworking or refinishing. All I do is paint a few pieces of furniture for my own home, and I happened on your channel quite some time ago searching for videos to help me with that. Usually, when a video is showing a process that I know I could never accomplish, I just quit watching, but I'm always mesmerized by your work, your knowledge, your everything--and I always watch all the way to the end. You put sooooo much work into this piece that I really wish I knew how much you sell it for.
@TranscendFurnitureGallery4 ай бұрын
I actually list everything I sell on my instagram and FB page, but usually remove the prices once they do sell. Pricing varies wildly from town to town, across provinces, and country to country (not to mention exchange rates), and there's no real average price because of the condition of the pieces, and sometimes even how quickly I need to sell something. For those reasons, I don't normally mention in these videos what the sale prices are, but if you're following the instagram/fb pages, you can actually see the for sale posts come up with the selling prices (until they sell, that is). 😊

My main mission in my business is to keep things out of the trash. Sometimes that means working on busted antiques and sometimes it means particle board crap. Lol A lot of it still has decades of use left. If I can take something and modify it to be more desirable, it will get used, at least for a time. But in the meantime, hopefully that transformation will inspire other people to do the same. There are many amazing modern craftspeople doing phenomenal work. And I’m not saying I’d never try it… but my efforts are focussed elsewhere purposely. Hope that makes sense. 😊 I do plan to build bunny beds though!

I wonder if that was the original top for that piece. It looks slightly too small, with no overhanging lip. Also, the veneer on the top drawer is so different from the other two (and so not-special) that it seems possible that someone replaced new walnut veneer after damage, sometime in the past. I'm glad the drawer pulls survived, they're very unusual. Either way, you've given it back its dignity and a new life.

I wondered the same thing about the top; it just doesn't seem like the original. A top with convex rounded edges would have been consistent with the ribbed base and legs, so my guess is that is the kind of top it originally had.

I think your comfort zone has just had a reset 🤣 The butternut/walnut woods and their respective colors are really well done and entirely appropriate for this piece. Great job Angie! You took on another "pile" and created a real work of art and restoration out of a smelly, sad discombobulated mess. Excellent!

This is the epitome of perfection. This is truly an art form you have. The way you transform the pieces you work on always comes out great, but this is hands down amazing. Great job!

I can’t imagine everyone NOT being impressed with your work. Your choice of pieces you refinish are so well done and I always feel you could envision the end product before you begin-even with a non aromatic specimen such as this one! 👏🏻👏🏻

S T U N N I N G ! ! ! ! These pieces are SO dramatic and (as a Leo) I have to say I absolutely LOVE them. Angie, as always, you work your Magic (and amazing skill) ... and bring them back to life. This one was really knackered and you found the Elixir of Youth and revitalized the piece beyond recognition. "Zowie!!!"

Over many years I've had these period pieces 30's-50's so i love what you do to save them. Thank you on behalf of mankind. The opposite color scheme works wonderfully, and it only takes one person to fall in love with it. Beautiful job.

I agree with you that the top looks odd for the overall style of the dresser. Perhaps at some point someone routed the edge to get rid of damage? In any case, you did an amazing job with this - magical work as always ❤

I love wood furniture because it makes me ponder the years the tree created the grain from the weather conditions each season. Your artistry with this piece is astounding. The meticulous care is a beautiful thing to watch. It boils down to love in my view. Thank you for sharing.

This transformation is definitely going to my top ten of my Angie Transformation List! Maybe even top five! I know the light trim is outside your comfort zone,(and mine!), but I think it is the right choice. Not only do I like the beauty of a rare wood to be shown off, but I think it mimics the handles, which ties the whole piece visually together. I think if the top’s trim had been left light, the dresser front would be too chaotic , and the top would be distracting. I’m glad this piece waited for you to come along. Good executive decision by your boss Nacho!

So i gotta say. The choice of the dark trim on the top ended up being perfect! It allows the top to fade away and what you end up seeing is the beautiful golden art deco accents. It has this awesome super modern feel but at the same time art deco, antique feel. I think it's a huge success! I'd buy it!
