Restoring my 70's Ludwig "Packers" Marching Snare

Whenever I've been in Wisconsin, it amazes me how pervasive the love for the Packers is. I don't even like football, but there's nowhere else in the country like Wisconsin. It's whimsical and delightful. As for the snare, I have a similar one that I use as a hanging tom. Great work!

Great video. I always enjoy your restorations. I'm new into my drumming journey and have just started acquiring drums. My dad told me a couple of months ago that he played snare in Junior High, and I never knew that. So upon showing him a few different student model snares at the time, and dating the period, it's a '74-76 Ludwig Acrolite. And from a few phone calls on his end, he found out his brother still has it in a closet in their hometown. Can't wait to make the trip, and restore it for sentimental reasons. This video made me think of that, as it is kind of a throwback to where you come from. Keep up the good work 🤘

@@malonedrum speaking of cool drum finds. I got lucky recently. I found a 1950s slingerland drum with rogers sticks original calfskin top and bottom heads original drumkey that fits into the drumkey holder and original sling and drum bag for 180 bucks. The drum sounds awesome and looks great. Only had 1 owner previously.

What drum heads did you get for this drum? I’m redoing an old Ludwig snare too..

I typically just use a coated ambassador on top, and a snare side hazy on bottom.

Idk, just some premark firegrain variety I think.
