Small tip for monsters high… if you look inside their legs that attach to their hips if it is a gold, black, a white band it’s from 2010-2011. If it’s plastic than it is not a first wave doll. Hopefully this helped!

Pro tip for anyone who has a frankie doll with yellow hair: use this shampoo called touch of blonde by the brand provoke I used it on my bonita femur and lagoona doll and immediately saw a difference in just one wash however you could just use any shampoo with the words "brightening" or "for blond tones" those work just fine too since they essentially just brighten blond hair

@@xandavidson1845 that would likely really damage the dolls other hair color if it’s multicolored (black and white like Frankie) and it may not be safe to use on their hair, even though it’s plastic

The Frankie you have is probably from the 2012 rerelease of the wave 1 ghouls! If the doll has a 2010 face but plastic hip joints its most like from the 2012 repros :)

Frankie is the 2012 Original Favorites Rerelease but the version with the 2010 face. She’s actually pretty rare so thats a lucky find :3. Tbh shes the superior first wave frankie since she has no chipable face most likely and plastic hips haha

I started collecting at 39 and I love these dolls too! Phew and those older ones are expensive 😅 but not the ones at the Thrift stores that can be easily restored! I found a G1 Draculaura and Gigi for less than $5! Love 💗 thrifting and finding dolls I collect.

The frankie you have is the old face variant in the 2012 rerelease every . Frankie and Clawdeen Had a Variant with the old face and Draculaura Had the china screening with the small eyes

I remember going to the toy store in 2010 with my mom and seeing the set that comes with like a bunch of dolls, I asked for it for Christmas and she somehow got it even though we were really poor.. then her religious friend convinced her that monster high dolls are evil because they're themed after monsters and she threw them all in the trash after I had already gotten super attached to them. I was never able to obtain a single monster high doll again and had to watch my friends play with them... 😐

Beautiful restorations!! I got my first dolls during the initial wave and at the time they were a bit slow to move on the shelves in my area. With my first job at the time I had enough left over after bills & things to grab them 2 at a time so over the course of a month & a half I bought them that way - Frankie & Clawdeen, The 2 pack, and then Draculaura & Lagoona to finish off. I got extra lucky too in that literally the next week or so the wave 1s became impossible to find and during their run ever since they stayed popular in my area lol

My sister and I shared all the original ghouls with elastic legs. Now those elastic legs broke easily with child play. Both lagoona and ghoulia became legless before we got rid of them. I also always pulled Clawdeen’s arm off and made her have a Bethany Hamilton moment. Also I want a basic Cleo so I’m hoping for more reproductions

One way to tell if they are wave one release is to look at how their hips were connected the first wave had elastic bands the second release had plastic hip connections

You know you can use purple shampoo to lessen the yellowing in Frankie’s hair yeah? I did it for mine! It definitely lightened her hair a few times. I would just be cautious to not get the shampoo anywhere near the- Okay mid-typing this you put purple conditioner in her hair so nvm 💀

Jay, idk how to tell you this but i think that Cleo is not a 2010 Cleo. She's a 2015 Cleo with 2010 Cleo's shoes. The 2010 has longer hair, her blouse has lace details, her arm wrap has hanging wraps, the phone is painted and the gold accesories are less of a bright gold and more dull. Maybe they gave her the 2010 shoes to trick people into buying her.
