Doug, when I was 13 I painted our 3 terraced roofs one summer. It was the best tan I ever had, like you I was thrilled when the job was over. You and Ashley are smart to spread this renovation project out over several small manageable projects, you never know what you will find, what unexpected materials and $$$ you might need. Looking forward to the next step in your homestead build.

how did it hold up? is a rust converter necessary as an earlier step?
@diyfferent5 ай бұрын
We don't live there anymore so we don't know what it looks like now, but the bucket says it's good for 7 years. I would say an initial rust converter isn't _necessary,_ but optional depending on your own personal needs. This product contains a rust inhibitor.

So fun to watch. I'm a big fan of doing things right the first time around. You are such a prime example of research and execution in a practical manner with long lasting choices. Simple is better and you have done it again. Look forward to seeing what the rest of your plans are for your barn and watching you get it done. We are extremely smokey here in Oregon but fortunate for our safety, as thousands have lost their homes and livelihood. I know your fall is coming soon - stay safe and warm.
@diyfferent4 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine being over there with all that going on. I hope someone can step up and put a stop to it. I hope you all can get some fresh air coming through soon.

@@diyfferent So many firefighters risking their lives; independent local firehouses and their teams too - many of which lost their own homes continue the battle. It's the natural evolution of forests to burn and regrow, but frightening when the wind is blowing in a not-expected direction and conditions are drier than the norm.
@diyfferent4 жыл бұрын
@@diannephillips2689 Unfortunately these fires were not caused by nature, but rather humans. These particular fires were all intentionally started by certain people and a certain political Party (D) is doing it to try to ruin our country in any possible way they can, especially because of the election coming up. We've seen many non-mainstream articles showing the many people who have been caught intentionally lighting brush fires along highways and such. One guy was caught lighting a fire, and then they released him because they like to release criminals over there, and then he was caught starting 6 more fires. It's just sad that people are willing to do such horrible things because of an agenda.
