Last night we brought out our 1967 to drive to Thanksgiving dinner and a rock cracked one of the lenses. I ordered the Hella lenses from Pelican, will called them and installed them right now. This video was great reference Mike!! Thank you!

Perfect timing and a big help, as I have the same trim ring fit issue on my just painted 356. Not sure I can sling the Dremel as well as you did!
@MikesRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Good luck on that Richard! It really wasn't too bad as long as the cutter is sitting in the fold of those clips And of course a good masking job!

Excellent work Mike. The light quality seems to have dropped of nowadays. Need to look into this soon. I really enjoy your videos.

Those Hella lenses from Stoddard are beautiful. Excellent choice. Pretty stark contrast to the aftermarket versions. I'm surprised that the Porsche branded replacements were as bad as you described. This video is yet another example of your incredible attention to detail. And... your Dremel work was 'surgically' precise. Well done!

Thanks Dan The lenses from Stoddard really blew me away when I received them..Im so used to the letdown..but not this time I'm thrilled with the fit and finish=)

Hi Mike, great video as usual. If you see this, can you put a link for your preferred trim ring? I can’t seem to find it out on AASE Sales. Thanks.
@MikesRestorations2 жыл бұрын
Hello Carmen Some of the items from AASE are no longer available. They do occasionally come across some very high quality and hard to find items. I recommend frequenting their website or give them a call if you are looking for something specific. Bryce is extremely helpful. Good luck!

Terrifying....taking a dremmel so close to that paint. You have nerves of steel. Can’t believe how good that front end looks!

Hello Carl Yes you can't imagine the thoughts going through my mind when I weighed all options. Just got to grin and bare it sometimes. The cuts did come out clean and sealer and paint on top made them look acceptable

Hi Mike, I am just mocking up my SWB headlights and i seem to be having the same problem you had with those tabs. Just to confirm, did you just cut the tabs on your headlight bucket?
@MikesRestorations2 жыл бұрын
Hello Landy man Yes the tabs will need to be trimmed for the trim ring and bucket assemble to fit and adjust properly. Good Luck!

Very nice to the utmost detail. Fun fact: These "prongs" that sit on the inside glass on SAE lights are supposedly to fit an alignment device that hangs on them. How is that going to happen with the outside glass?
@MikesRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gplus.. Thats a great question..would be interesting to break down a set and see how they clip in

Hi Mike great effort, I really admire your patience! Did you repaint the Hella SB19 lamp buckets/rings, if yes what color did you use? It looks like a grey in some light and seems to have a tinge of brown in other light.
@MikesRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Hello Ian Thanks=) The lighting is really not so good over the bench but yes the color you are inquiring is by Krylon (Pewder Gray). www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFRVZJQ/?ref=exp_mikesrestorations_dp_vv_d Available in our new store..If ever you are wondering about something used in one of the videos its most likely available in the store www.amazon.com/shop/mikesrestorations

Great stuff as always, Mike. I’m really curious how the alignment is going to go for your door/fender gaps. Old Porsche wisdom would say that getting things back to the original alignment after body work will be impossible if the fenders ever come off again. I hope that’s wrong!
@MikesRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Hello Daniel Will find out pretty soon! Hopefully won't have any issues that can't be worked out.. After primer and final mockup I have still come across issues! Crossing my fingers=)
