Beautiful restauration! The cabinet is from a period called „Gründerzeit“ and was most likely the top part of a bigger buffet cabinet. Love the piece of newspaper you showed… it‘s written in old German and informed of the marriage of the potter Reinhold and Maria on the October 3rd, 1875. Thank you for sharing.

@Nicole Stöber, is Old German in that particular print type/font difficult to read, for a native German speaker? Because it sure is to me😅. Eventhough I have no problem what so ever reading German in "normal" (modern) print. With this particular type setting many letters seem to resemble a ß / Eszett, to me.✌🏻

It's sad to see them rot away because they aren't trendy anymore, and most people won't bother with them. So it makes me really satisfied when I see one get restored to its original glory. The furniture makers in 'the old times' had most of the tools you see in this video. Just not the electric ones. They had power tools that were either water, steam, or engine driven. @@amandaduckett3093 yes, there was industrial level furniture, door, window and flooring manufacturing back to Roubo. Most wood working powered machinery was developed in the 19th century, it just wasn't electric powered. Most of them were powered by a belt drive coming off of a central drive shaft.
