Hey folks, all video's on the main channel contain footage of the 'Werkplaatsvlog' channel. That's because that channel has almost all raw footage & more behind the scenes footage. The video's on 'Werkplaatsvlog' have a delay of one week on the actual record date at the moment. But we want to get it more up to date, so we can react faster in the videos on comments.

Russian ZMZ53based engines, and all Russian UMZ engines have 2 gears in stead of the belt... One gear on the crank, the other on the camshaft and you're done. The benefit of this is that if your gear is worn out you will hear is long before it's too late, and you have enough time to replace it during your next week/month.

What happens if the air intake isn't blocked and that happens?
@sasjadevries
@sasjadevries 5 жыл бұрын
@@jadenhirst9230 Look up diesel engine runaway... KZbin is full of diesel runaway videos, and wikipedia has an article about it. Actually that wooden block sounds like a great idea, I don't think they will replace the piston rings, and they probably won't get this engine too an ideal state, so the risk of a runaway occuring is pretty high for this project.
@teamidris

They really rev and either melt or explode :) On rebuilt engines one person would work the starter and fuel and the other had wood block and rag soaked in petrol, depending what it needed :D@@sasjadevries

Steel and aluminum don't have the same expansion/contraction rate. If you use a heatgun (not a torch) and heat the aluminum around the sleeve, the head will expand and will apply less pressure on the steel sleeve. It is then be easier to remove the sleeve...
