I was asked by my former colleagues at the Environment Agency to make a short video to support their application to the 2015 UK River Prize competition, organised by the River Restoration Centre.
The competition was judged by a panel of experts. Nineteen excellent entries from across the four countries were reduced down to four finalists; Ballinderry River, County Tyrone; River Adur, West Sussex; River Tweed, Scottish Borders & North Northumberland; and Rivers Kennet & Lambourn, Berkshire and Wiltshire.
Congratulations to the winners - the Tweed. Well done to all partners in the Kennet and Lambourn valleys for all their ongoing hard work to protect and improve this truly special catchment.
The video was made to be viewed by a panel of technical experts, so does not give the usual background information. We were limited to a maximum of 4mins so can only give a flavour of what’s been achieved. Many thanks to all who contributed.
