My guess about the "dropship combat test" is that the Viper in files is addressed as the ship, hence why you can't melee or cloke or they wanted you to loose everything after the glass explosion and fight goons with only your pistol before viper made second attack.

All of these issues are fundamentally because Titanfall 2 was pushed into an earlier release slot by EA. This is the cause of all sorts of issues (and probably the ultimate wider commercial failure of the game). After the release flopped, EA also cut staff from the game and nixed further plans, so later updates weren't as large as initially planned. There is space for 10 titans in the code, plans for 8 upon release (this would have been the standard 6, plus Brute and an electric titan) [see Dinorush's Brute4 and GalacticMoblin's Archon] and 2 more with Monarch's Reign. Also, plenty of unreleased/broken weapons (the YH803) and broken modes (see Frontier War). I'm a TF|2 modder - been doing this since the release of Northstar; it's been truly sad to poke around and see how much bigger and better this game could have been.

Respawn is the one that picked the release date to be between COD: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1. EA had nothing to do with picking that release date, so stop spreading that misinformation.

In regard's to the "Ark "dropship combat test" There are probably two (and a half) options. 1. These were meant to be "assistant" ships that came in to help Viper during the boss fight. Which would be sensible, probably more sensible then the live game where enemy titans are dropped on the deck , to attack you. The 1.5 option is these are ships that come to attack you before Viper as a set dressing nuisance for you to deal with before Viper's fight begins or before BT attempts to throw you to the Draconis post stage 1 viper fight. The last option is that these are potentially pickup ships for the player, with one or both of them trying to pick up the player to move them to the Draconis. This is opposed to the final campaign where BT plans to throw the player after stage 1 of Viper boss fight is completed. Viper would then come in and destroy them as a set dressing display before tackling BT and cooper in the final sequence. Not sure how boss's damaging AI functions, but this might explain the incredibly low health of the ships, since Viper would basically tap each of them with his rail gun or missiles to trigger their destruction.

5:58 I actually don't think this one was cut, I think it was moved. Later in the level, when you when you return to BT after fighting through the facility in the past, he's fighting prowlers. He also says that the remaining security systems are attacking them, and while he is correct as the damaged stalkers are there, he doesn't mention the prowlers.

33:00 I think the bool "free" is made for the ships fighting in the background. If a ship gets destroyed, instead of deleting the geometry from the scene and remaking it, (which is prone to memory leaks among other things,) they reuse it later.

A ship being free probably means that there is no script being run on it. For example. A 6-4 ship is not free because it has a script that invades the malta when the guns are downed.

The animated fan thing looks like a sort of aid, like for showing off the section in a trailer or for level design etc. This way you can show everyone what the route is supposed to look like without having someone run it over and over or you can do the same shot for a trailer over and over etc.

I see! The idea was probably to force the player to deal with the threat of a titan while having none themselves after a while! (Hence why it takes time to free itself) Other scenes seem to be for fun, but we’re probably cut for various reasons like saving time or smoothing out gameplay or polishing it?
