I've been fluffing around working out which handlebar bag to take on an upcoming long-haul ride through Southeast Asia (2 back panniers, and I was thinking an Ortleib 8L or Zefal 7L as handlebar bag.) Then I discovered the Restrap Bag, and your review was right on the money. At 14L the Dry Bag solves a few space issues, and interesting to see the 3L Food Bag works well as the portable doo-dad bag. I was also concerned about steering issues, and just how secure the attachment would be. But all good, it appears! My thanks for the clear review, Adam, and all the best from Melbourne, Australia! I had the small food pouch on top of mine, I really liked its accessibliity, preferred its horizontal form to the top tube bag and gadget bag. So have ordered the larger food pouch seperately, not sure if it will fit my camera still though.

Hi Marcello, thanks for watching. I'm still playing around with what kit goes in which bag, but at the moment I haven't got any sleeping kit in the frame bag. I did have my tent poles and peg but I've now got the poles wedged between the frame bag and the top tube, and the pegs are wrapped up in the tent in the handlebar bag. That seems to work at the moment.

Thanks for the informative video. I've also purchased the restrap collection (saddle bag, frame bag, bar bag, stem bag, fork bags). Since I plan to go on a 10+ days bike tour in the summer, I would be very interested in what equipment you plan to take with you on your coast to coast trip and which bags you intend to use for which things. See the holster bag, do the straps have like a clip so the strap does not get undone slowly overtime like on ortlieb bags?

there's not a clip only a small band to tidy the excess strap away. The straps may loosen a little over time but I haven't had an issue with it so far

02:40 Have you taped off the fork area for protection? I can imagine that these belts could damage the fork, especially if the gravel or dirt gets directly between the fork and the belt....

I have. Just electrical tape wherever the straps are touching the paint work...as best I can anyway!

@@AdamStiff yeah I was wondering if it could rest below the bars or not, I didn’t want to spend $100+ on any of these brands to find out that it just won’t work. If clearance space is issue I have plenty of that, I have no experience with these at all so I’m in fence in water I should try or not, love the bars for hand positioning but hate the limited options.

The handlebar bag is 14 liter: does that include the extra bag on top?

Hi buddy..I have a 40cm frame.. would the small bar bag fit ??.what's the dimension of the bar bag?

I believe the size of the actual holster and main dry bag is the same for small and large sizes. It's the size of the top pouch which changes. You might struggle with clearance between the dry bag and front tyre on a smaller frame but I'm not sure.

@@willowwatts ah!😀 It will fit then, but you'll be limited to how wide you pack the dry bag. My bars are 42cm I think and not flared so I just pack the dry bag a bit shorter (so roll the ends in more). I can still fit my tent in there but the poles are attached to my top tube
