Just wanna say, I started watching Easy Allies since last E3 and stayed thanks to Huber's dramatic retelling of playing Yakuza 0. you guys quickly became one of my favorite channels or even outright favorite, I love the dynamic between all of you, the fun your having, the open mindedness, the ability to be excited about something while still being cautious and aware of potential issues in a product, conversations and tastes that I can relate to cause there aren't many gaming circles where where I can go "you like this to? Cool!" I can't think of another group the likes games like Uncharted, Last of Us, Mario, ATLUS, Metroid, Platinum and Final Fantasy? It's usually one or the other. Who else has a betting game about game announcements? games from community members? It's also nice to see a community where most of everyone is nice and fun with no hatred be spewed everywhere compared to going to a comment section in say a Jim Sterling or Reviewtechusa (why do i even go there?) video. Keep up the great work wove and respect!

Switch rhyming with switch is known in the rhyming world as an "Identity" or "Identity rhyme" or sometimes "identical rhymes" or "identicals". It's mentioned on for example the wikipedia page for perfect rhyme. I think most would agree that it isn't considered a perfect rhyme. I strongly disagree with Judge Damianis decision to count the word "switch" as a rhyme on "Switch".

Betting Specials are like a special episode of a favourite TV show. They are everything that makes EZA great like normal, but they are even better. I wish there was more events that could be bet on, but I guess that would remove the rarity that makes them so special. Keep up the great work. L&R

If you check Don's video specifically, Don notes how many times will the word 'switch' be rhymed with, not the proper noun 'Switch'. Damiani invented a rule that didn't exist. His ruling in invalid, as a word cannot rhyme with itself. Checkmate.

My problem with the ruling on Don's bet isn't so much Damiani's ruling, but the fact that not a single one of them had the foresight to get that clarification before they made their bets. I get that it's the heat of competition and all, but to me watching it seemed obvious at the time it could lead to problems.

Sloppy judging. Linguists (scientists who study language) have officially defined conditions for a rhyme. The conditions might be difficult to understand without a background in the field, but here's a layman's statement on wikipedia: "Though homophones and homonyms satisfy the first condition for rhyming-that is, that the stressed vowel sound is the same-they do not satisfy the second: that the preceding consonant be different. As stated above, in a perfect rhyme the last stressed vowel and all following sounds are identical in both words."' So no, "Switch" is not considered to rhyme with "switch." Disappointing.

Steven Wilber Good question. This is sort of where it starts to get more involved and the layman explanation might not be as satisfying. Basically a syllable is comprised of two parts, an onset and a rime. The onset must be a consonant or a consonant cluster. A consonant cluster can comprise several consonants. The rime is further divided into two parts, a nucleus (vowel) and a coda (another consonant or consonant cluster). When we talk about rhyming, we're looking for the onset to be different but the rime to be the same. Without trying to confuse you with the international phonetic alphabet (IPA) too much, br-ea-d and r-e-d have different onsets but the same rime. (Despite the spellings being different, the vowel used is the identical /ɛ/ sound).
