I have now owned dogs for probably well over 35 years and my findings are that all dog kibble is pure junk even the expensive science diet and other brands like that none of them are worth a darn I make my own dog food and I don’t do a raw food diet because my wiener dog is no closer to a wolf in the wild that I am myself closer to a Neanderthal these are domesticated animals that we did this to so therefore me and my vet and my dog nutritionist agreed-upon homemade meals like green beans carrots cooked ground beef apples broccoli Sweet potatoes but be careful of some of these veggies they will cause gas but my boy has never looked this good and don’t forget about your omega-3 fatty acids very important especially for coats good luck to you and your precious little dog he’s very cute

Would love to follow this allergy journey! I’m a new frenchie owner and I’m noticing the excessive shedding and stomach rash😩

Hi Elleksis, Congratulations on becoming a Frenchie pawrent! This is probably the most exciting but also nerve-wracking part because everything will be new. Don't stress too much on the shedding because they shed like crazy to start off. I freaked out too >.< The stomach rash can be as simple as product use but also commonly known to be food or environment related. I would check out with the vet to help ease the concern. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions in regards. What's your frenchie name??

I stop giving chicken and now give him bison, but he still scratching and biting hair off his back legs. How long it takes to know if it's working? Should the scratching stop as soon as the source is removed? He's on meds for the itch but don't want him on that forever and I hate that he feels miserable. Some suggested to feed rabbit or tripe. I wash his bedding with detergent with out hash ingredients and I don't have carpets because some have hash chemicals so I don't think is the environment. I can't find a good holistic vet so I don't have good experiences at vet.

Hi, here are my two cents-my vet suggested that I switch my doggo to just one source of protein for at least 10-14 weeks. And the change for the better can be seen somewhere from a week to a month..same take less, some more. I now feed him with cooked venison in combination with anchovies kibble (made with just anchovies, sweet potato and added omegas) for almost two months and his itching and scratching is almost completely gone! :) Some of the most common allergens are: chicken, duck, beef, chicken eggs.. you can look for it on google. I would suggest you to maybe try with elimination diet, it is what was suggested to me for my doggo..hope it helps yours too :-)
