G'day, great to see an Aussie doing reviews etc. Was looking at the Resun lp20 for my 6 tanks with foam filters.

Cheers Jeff 👍 there are a couple of us fishtubers around. Doing our bit. Nice one, the lp20 looks like it would do 6 tanks perfectly. It also comes with a 6 outlet manifold.

Great vid mate love the manifold. I was wondering what brand the lp60 pump is and how quiet it is. I was also wondering if you think a bleeder valve would be necessary? Especially for someone with less tanks (approximately 15 double or single sponges. Regards Duzzy🇦🇺

Thanks mate, glad you like the manifold. the brand that makes the LP60 is Resun. Hard to say how quiet it is but I would say the bubbles it creates are louder than the pump itself. Good news though, you wont need to make a manifold like me as they are sold with a 14 outlet manifold as standard. You could use a T-piece off one of them to get you to 15. As for a bleeder valve, again you can simply use a T-piece off one of the outlets and attach a tap to one end. Close/open it as you need. Hope that helps 👍

Good stuff mate, ive had a great run with my lp40. I prefer to run pvc around the room then run barbs on the pvc manifold then air lines to the tank with the inline tap just above the tank so its easier to adjust exactly how I want the flow. Unfortunately I found the taps u used always split down the side for some reason so I changed to the black heavy duty irrigation ones which come either threaded or barbed.

I was going to run PVC around the room, but I had 200m of airline tubing so figured I should use that instead rather than buying more PVC. Funny you say that about the taps splitting, I had been using the cheap blue taps you get off ebay and they are starting to split. About 7 to 8 months of use out of them.

@@JasonsCichlids That's fair enough its always good to use stuff u already have. If u have an issue with these too just go for the black irrigation ones and u wont look back! They aren't fine adjustment but close enough is good enough for filters.

Thanks Jamie. I'll see how these ones go and look to upgrade them in the future. Be easier to source them too I guess

Just subscribe , I just in the middle of doing a closed loop with pvc pipes I am going too use some adjustable metal threaded gang valves to 24 large sponge filters Pump will be the hailea 120hap air pump, fingers crossed it all works , Do you fine your losing air towards the end of your pvc pipe?
@JasonsCichlids4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing Andrew! Nice one mate, that is a great air pump and will have no problems powering your 24 sponge filters. But no, I do not lose air at the end of the PVC pipe. But that's because the gang valves at that end of the manifold connect to aquariums which are the closest aquariums to the manifold, only about 1 metre of airline tubing was required for them. So thankfully that isn't an issue for my set up.

Could you please let me know the size of the drill bit you used and the make of the valve
@JasonsCichlids7 ай бұрын
I am sorry I don't recall the size of the drill bit. Just use an off cut of PVC and drill some test holes in that to find the correct size. That's what I did.

How noisy is the pump? Any idea which is quieter this or the hailea v60?
@JasonsCichlids Жыл бұрын
I don't how loud the hailea is. It's hard to say how loud the Resun LP-60 is. But I think you'll be surprised at how quiet it is compared to its size and output. A quick Google search says it 45db if that helps.
