2:55 To answer your question the band and song name is called F by Maximum the Hormone . A very popular band in Japan. You would also know them for their OP of Death Note's What's Up People?! way back in the day. There is a back story of rumors from what I recall when the movie was released , take with a grain of salt. F the song was released way before the movie, was also more or less a tribute song the the pink ruler. So it is said that Akira Toriyama was trying to make a follow up to the success of battle of the gods and F started playing at some point, which in turn made him think of Freeza because of the lyrics. So during production of the movie they had Toi come after MtH because of F the song, but settled on a deal saying "let us use your song during the movie and we be good.". If you haven't done so already I would highly recommend watching their music videos, even if you don't like rock/metal. Just because they are entertaining enough as is. With that said they also have a style that makes you know that it is MtH when it plays.

They kind of retconned how ki worked from this point onwards. It was always implied that the more ki you had meant more speed, strength, durability, etc. In recent Dragonball they've changed it so that you have to FOCUS your ki to become more durable, faster, etc. So Goku letting his guard down is equivalent to letting his ki down, thus he becomes more vulnerable to weak attacks. It's also entirely possible that Sorbet's laser was super advanced technology on par with powerful ki attacks. #RIPSorbet

In fact, it has always worked like this, Ki does not make a person stronger, Ki is the representation of a person's strength. Frieza for example, had no Ki control, so his power is always at maximum. Goku and the Z warriors are able to control their own Ki, and when not fighting, they lower it to the average human level, and in doing so, they are weakened. Think of Superman for example, he is always at his maximum power and invulnerable, because he cannot control his Ki, however, if he knew how to control Ki, he could decrease it, weakening himself to the human level.

Goku was immune to small arms fire from the start in Dragon Ball, that was before he even knew what ki was, let alone how to focus it. They didn't really focus on extreme ki control until the cell saga with the amped up SSJ forms. Dragon Ball super continued that trend by having Frieza get massively stronger in Hell just through practicing ki control. Whis also tells Goku and Vegeta that mastering their ki will make their SSB forms ridiculously strong. In DB and most of DBZ the more ki you had the more powerful you were, no need for any sort of fine control of it.

Goku as a child had 10 power level, and he always walked with that power at maximum, when he learned to control Ki, he become able do reduce his power to 1, if he didn't know how to control Ki, he would always walk with 10 power level. Learning to control Ki also means knowing how to control your strength and spend less energy, anda that was Goku's training in the Cell saga. The SS used a lot of stamina, so he trained on how to control Ki better, to perfect the SS. In fact, this was the same problem they had with the SSB, they had to learn to control their Ki better to overcome this weakness.

Just some info anybody interested. The bodys of the super humans/saiyans in DBZ are strong and durable, but only to a point on its own. They enhance that limit with energy and skill. In a completely relaxed state a machine gun wont kill them but will bruise or maybe scrape them a bit. Also SSB is a calm super saiyan, thats why the color is blue, normal super saiyan is using rage (i think in eastern culture they have a color = emotion)yellow/gold being rage. Because SSB is all about calm and controling your energy, its much easier to catch goku (who lets his guard drop when he knows he won) unprepared from a suprise interference. They even showed it earlier with vageta jumping in and punching goku.

Super Saiyan God: A saiyan with divine energy (aka god ki). This is technically a transformation but it's really just maintaing divine energy whilst in base form. This form can be obtained through the ritual or through special training. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue: A super saiyan god transformed into a super saiyan. So for god ki, super saiyan god is base form and super saiyan blue is super saiyan. The reason why they can use blue without being in super saiyan god is because they achieved something what some fans refer to as "saiyan beyond god" which is when a saiyan has learned to use divine energy on their own without the super saiyan god transformation. In the anime adaptation, there are more scenes and more dialogues... The films were made just to attract the new public after several years of the end of DBZ. Kinda like a way to introduce Bills and angels and freeza, ssj red and Blue... The galactic patrol... In the anime it explains more.

You missed some context Frieza’s voice actor for this movie stepped down from voice acting due to his condition had a replacement to dubbed frieza in Games like Xenoverse, FighterZ, and kakorot also the anime for a few episodes tho he came back to dub frieza in the Broly eventually redubbing the tournament of power episodes for the blu ray release of the anime eventually stopping and passing away in mid October 2021

I still agree what TeamFourStar commented of the god transformations, Super Saiyan God should have been called "Saiyan God" and then have Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan be "Super Saiyan God" to Avoid the Super Saiyan Mouthful

@@CyberDalek17 it’s not called that anymore 😹 it was when resurrection F came out, but they cleared up the name by calling it super saiyan blue in the anime. I haven’t seen anyone call it SSGSS since like 2015 xD
