I love this channel Cesar, I love to watch the ‘beautiful game’ of snooker; the Newtonian interaction of balls, table, cues, and so on, has an inherent beauty of its own. The one has to consider the players, the referee, the crowd, even the humidity in the arena. There are too many variables to list but holistically that makes something real. It’s easy to forgo the importance of the commentary in the equations. Neal Foulds shows his quality 3 mins into this clip where a shot is played that looks to be on target, but Neal waits to comment until it, actually, misses; to speak - and then quickly concedes his first impression. That doesn’t detract from the experience, it enhances it.

Snooker tables are not exactly the same at all. There is lots of variations . Cloth tightness , cloth wear , knap stiffness , knap height , How level the table really is and they all vary a bit , rubber difference's as rubber ages it gets harder and looser on the cushion blocks , especially when players lean heavily on the rubber nose and break the glue joint or cushion tape hold . Rubbers not cut correctly at the pockets and slight inconsistencies from one pocket to the other and one table to another . So you get variation in rubber spring back response . Slate joint imperfections that may not have been bogged and sanded properly . Variations in cushion tightness from one table to another . The potential variations to the average player are not very obvious but they can cause misses . Potting a ball against the knap is a different line to potting it with the knap . A worn cloth plays about the same both ways . A friend of mine invited me to see his new snooker table and I had to go home and get my tools and fix a whole lot of issues , not properly level and inconsistencies in the level not balanced out . Pleats in the cushion covers , loose bed cloth and cushions not properly tightened . Tightening the bed cloth a bit without moving the position of the balk D and ball spots was a real bitch but I did it and only had to remark the black and pink spots . There is no English classically trained people in the industry anymore and the Chinese don't know how to make a good table .

Hey Cesar, hope you're doing well mate! Quick question - Do you have any idea what kind of Tip Ronnie uses? Clearly he seems pissed with the one he had on in this match. I use a Century 'Medium' Tip. What's the difference between Soft, Medium, Medium Hard, and Hard? I mean, I'm trying to understand what different experience would Players have with each kind of tip. Appreciate it if you could help me understand this bit as I'm always confused when I shop for a Tip. Thanks again for the wonderful uploads! Always a fan!

I believe it's more about personal preference and how the hit feels. Players who play hard tend to prefer hard tips. Personally, a soft tip allows me to generate more spin on the cue ball, perhaps due to the longer contact time; with a hard tip, it would lead to occasional miscues in my case. On the other hand, when the tip is too soft, I feel the shot is not firm or consistent. But, as I said, it's mostly a matter of taste.

I really like Ronnie O'Sullivan but he is inconsistent playing is getting worse every match. And that's a big part of the problem why his world ranking is so bad. One minute he's on next minute he's off. It's like he starts of the match wanting to play and then all of a sudden gets bored and that's the end of it. I mean doesn't he want to win titles anymore or be number one again?
