What if you have a low spot where you need to raise the cap? Can you shim it with composite shims?

I've got the same problem with poorly made blocks. Home depot and nicolock, both very sloppy with tolerances. 1/4 inch in height variation on a 6 inch block or not level. Ridiculous. Quality is going down while the price goes up. Shame on them!
