Two crucial factors that complement each other but were overlooked by US politicians are Murphy's Law and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Murphy's Law states that "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." This principle emphasizes the importance of anticipating and preparing for potential failures. In the context of US involvement in Afghanistan, ignoring Murphy's Law led to unforeseen consequences, such as the empowerment of corrupt and criminal elements of the Northern Alliance. FMEA, on the other hand, is a systematic approach to identifying potential failures in a system, product, or process. It evaluates the severity, occurrence, and detectability of each failure mode. By applying FMEA, the US could have identified and mitigated risks associated with partnering with the Northern Alliance and trusting the Pakistani ISI. However, the failure to utilize FMEA led to unanticipated outcomes, including the strengthening of corrupt and criminal gangs. In essence, the US overlooked two vital tools that could have helped them anticipate and mitigate potential failures in Afghanistan.

US government only needed to watch this movie: Rambo III Thats it. It would have taught them all they need to know about the Afghans.

Unfortunately, I must concur with your assessment. The outcomes of their actions provide clear evidence of this.

Mr. Jalali suggesting another civil war in Afghanistan so he can go back and establish a corrupt government of criminal warlords. The Pakistani should not have been invited to this discussion.

Pakistanis must not have been invited to this panel, correct. But do you realize that the Pakistan army is force for hire for $$$. They will do the dirty work for whatever the white man on the other side of atlantic decides must happen to Afghanistan.
