Question for future topic: How to tackle management's argument that a scrum master position is a short-term need, that it is a role that will phase out as the team matures and then we're stuck with this extra position?

Can we get a link to the blog post here? I would love to read it. Maybe I can glean some ideas on effectively presenting new ideas to managers. BTW, the timing of this video is impeccable.

The problem is how companies work in terms of finance. There has to be a certain plan to be able to consider costs, revenue and so on -> as this is going into the balance-sheets , projections and therefore into annual calls , shareholder informations... I totally understand why the agile transformation gets stuck. It seems is it is not enough to emphazise the "uncertainty" of a plan and that "cone of" means that the plan has to be maintained to make it more accurate to reality. Hence "agile". But... that is what we agile coaches and so on do know - but everything around this operational level is stuck in the old way of planning and therefore... even though one tries to emphazise the "uncertain" part ... it reaches the brain-areas which are connected to the oldschool execution of things:/

Agree 100%. But I still haven't figured out how to convince the Gantt chart crowd that they're looking at a nail, they need a hammer, and they're wasting time browsing Amazon for the perfect-sized screwdriver. It's worth looking into Jared Spool's talks about bringing the conversation back to product vision and asking "Are we getting closer?" regularly. I wonder if anyone's tried asking: "What did your roadmap look like last year? How about the year before that? And the year before that?" to try and break the illusion that "the developers just need to plan better, keep their commitments, and be held accountable" Aside: What's with the jumpy editing? I've got time to watch a 10 minute video, squeezing it down to 4 is distracting
