I just going to paste my comment from the MV. To me this is easily the more mature Loona solo, because it really hits you in a different way. The song along the lyrics convey a happy-sad sensation of anxiety and nostalgia about those hard and intimidating moments in life when you feel alone and scared, but you also know you can't run from important events and making adult decisions. Those sunny days of playful innocence are gone, it's time for new experiences and strange people to meet, you don't know what the future holds... so it makes you afraid and you can't let go of all the precious things, best friends and memories; then deep in your heart you feel hope and have expectations for the best, even when at the same time you feel so unsure about yourself... Yves voice is gentle but firm, the dancing delicate but powerful. The sun permeating through the windows of an empty building and the nights out with faceless people... a lot of nuanced contrasts that ultimately make us feel a myriad of emotions.

I think Yves was the first one to rebel. In the time line I think her character rebelled before love4evah MV by biting her forbidden fruit. Then she brought along Chuu and Gowon who ate their forbidden fruits the strawberry and pineapple. Then Olivia rebelled and ate the plum for being left behind. She then tried hunting down the girls in her MV but found heejin instead

For me the meaning of the "New" MV has always been about someone who loves new things in their life, but the moment they're not new anymore, they're bored of it. So like taking a bite from an apple and then dropping it. Or getting the stuffed animals from the machine but then tossing them away.

I think as far as solo video goes this has an incredible amount of lore and symbolism to the loonaverse. Everything from the colors, animals, scenery, locations, and lyrics.

The song is apparently of the "soultronica" genre which BBC (Loona's company) said was the first of it's kind in kpop. But I really like the Daft punk reference as I can see the french house music that they did in the inspiration for this song. The b-side to Yves's ep (the song is called D-1) is actually french pop inspired too.

Thina, this is the first Korean song that is categorized as Soultronica. It's beautiful. Her B-side, D-1 it's one of my favorite B-sides in all Kpop. Yves was able to catch YeoJin (frog) and Chuu (penguin) in the claw machine. There is also a theory that Yves is the"Great Seducer", claiming Loona for herself. Yves starts to appear in the later solos after hers. Look for her in Go Won's. Also look to see what happens with Olivia and the claw from the claw machine in Egoist.

What makes me really happy about your reactions is that you're actually paying attention on what the MV's stoty wants to tell. That the whole beauty of the Loonaverse. Indeed there are a lot of thing going on in this MV and the role of Yves in the Loonaverse, she's extremely important in the lore. Indeed she has some conection with Vivi. As a matter of fact, there is a frame in "Why Not?" where Vivi is standing in the same alley Yves was, surrounded by apples. A lot is going on there. Also, Choerry catches an apple nearly the end of the video. Important for when you see GoWon's "One & Only".

Yves definitely gives me white swan turned to black swan, since her representative animal is also a swan. She starts as beautiful pure white swan in a white ballet dance studio and the as discovers more about herself she becomes more "rebellious" and "free" able now to express herself in different ways without putting any restrictionsor limitations to herself. You can also see in the "So what" mv she's in a ballet room again but this time all black dancing freestyle in contrast with all the ballet dancers in the background

You've finally reached my ub's solo! As far as I remembered that's the first supersonica genre in kpop according to the mv's description. In case you don't know yet, each members have a representative animal and it's also the stuff toys Yves was smashing around and controlling through the crane. Everything you see about yyxy's solo will make even more sense once you finally watch their unit mv w/ grimes. Also, in the beginning of the song you mentioned everything was white and all but in So What MV she's wearing all black in a dark room in contrast to what she is in that mv. The solo albums only have one extra song per member and I suggest you listen to the rest of their solo album's especially Kim lip's, Jinsoul's, and Yves' 🙌.

Being one of the older members of Loona, Yves is definitely 'the sage' of Loona! She is also the comedic of the group and does fantastic imitations of other members. Her mentor/favorite idol is "Sunmi", which I feel she looks like at certain camera angles. She was also highly recruited for Loona because of her PHENOMENAL dance skills! "New" is definitely one of my TOP 3 solo songs! The sound is unlike anything you hear in kpop now.

Here’s a summary of everything in this MV New MV is set in the timeline at the same time as the start of Love4eva MV. The start of her rebelling agaist Eden. And other MVs mentioned below In here you can see her finding herself and furthering herself away from the strict and proper rules of Eden(where she and yyxy originated and where Love4Eva is located) Theres a lot of symbolism in this MV. -Her changing shoes means she removes herself from eden. -the claw machine has stuff animals that represents the members.. when collecting the prices animal they became apples instead. This symbolised that those members acquired knowledge and wisdom. Just like the fruit of Eden in the bible. -Yves can be seen taking a bite of all the apples and cutting all the nametags that has their(the members) name in it. Another form of rebellion. As if “You cant put a tag on us” or “you don’t dictate our life” -the elevator means she left Eden and went down -she visited floor 8 first which is Choerry’s number being the 8th member to debut. -Yves gave Choerry an apple and Choerry dropped/passed it down to Gowon in the MV One&Only, Gowon’s story. So Gowon can take a bite of the forbidden fruit. -before that Yves is also seen in the MV Heart Attack and gave chuu her forbidden fruit, strawberry -Choerry with her Odd Eye has the power to open portals and be able to teleport in all 3 realms/worlds. Eden(yyxy), Inbetween(OEC), and Earth(1/3) - Yves went down from 8-5 Choerry to Vivi.. you can see Yves roller skating with ViVi and kinda mirroring ViVi’s experience in her story in the MV Everyday I Love You. Thats because its actually Yves that visited her that day…. - cassette tapes are like each girls timeline. They live on a mobius strip so their life just goes in repeat, thats why every group MV is the same.. what made difference is because of the butterfly effect they set every loop/repeat.

Yves is a man's name in french, but it's pronounced like Eve in english. It's a reference to the guy in Vivi's MV. He is Yves in a parallel world (but Love from OnlyOneOf in real life ! Sadly, he parted ways with his company a few weeks ago). From what I understand, Vivi and Chu are in love with Yves. So, Yves"Eve", is a reference to Eve from the bible and in this song, she is realizing how she is a whole person and not just Adam's rib anymore. This makes me super emotional somehow.

the main theory around vivi and yves is that vivi was in eden with yyxy and she tried to escape so she died (or was badly injured) and had to be turned into an android (love & live mv) it’s also theorized that jinsoul got the cherry she put out for choerry because vivi’s fruit was choerry (rose family which fits with the yyxy members except gowon) and that jinsoul is in love with yves but yves is in love with vivi so jinsoul killed vivi (it’s a mess i know)
