RETIRED DANCER'S REACTION+REVIEW: TXT "We Lost The Summer" M/V+Dance Practice!

WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this KZbin name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

But i dont really think you want to watch all of them because some of them are 18-20 minutes long, some video looks like a lyrics video etc. BUT, they prepared like 3-4 choreo EVERY comeback too!! As with most songs by TXT, when they perform it live, it becomes transcendent; this one is more so. When they sing it with the choreo, they get it into and it becomes so meaningful to them and therefore to us, the audience. The latest live version was on “Ellen” - it had cuts to show different stages but Yeonjun was snarling his way throughout and looking so damn beautiful(!); Taehyun’s high notes were incredible. Soobin has been really coming into his own lately in live performances - his vocals are so clean. Beomgyu has always had a specific warm tone you can’t mistake. Huening Kai (his fans also call him Hyuka) is beyond talented, the group protects him like he’s a baby. This group to me is golden - watch for their comeback at the end of May (Freeze).

If you want to finish doing txt music videos that have dance practices before moving onto songs that don’t have music videos, I think these are the ones you haven’t done yet (correct me if I'm wrong moa): ✧ Cat & Dog ✧ Angel or Devil ✧ Drama (the mv is for the japanese release of the song) ✧ Blue Orangeade With that being said some of my fav txt choreos don’t have music videos - my personal favs being: ✧ New Rules (The Studio Choom version is really cool but they do have a dance practice if you prefer. They also performed it for their 2019 MMA performance - which in my opinion is even better than their MAMA one!) ✧ Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive? As for a guide, there are 2 main guides that seem to get recommended and they both have their perks. ✧ yeonjunbabie has a set of 6 individual 10 minute guides - one focusing on the group’s general information and giving snippets of their discography, and 5 others for each individual member. This compilation of guides is good for getting to know their personalities and some specific facts about them, however if you don’t want to hear all their discography yet it might be better to skip the first part. Yeah I loved that there was so much circular movement to this choreo. The lyrics mention endless winter, and about how we've all experienced the never ending shitshow of 2020. So I appreciated that the choreo was visually looping in parts. I liked how they had different members alone for different parts too, more of that physical isolation we all experienced. At the start of the MV the pop up on the phone a public message about our pal the corona. TXT also did a cover of Avenue Beat - F**k 2020 (the Tiktok COVID anthem), so I really feel like they expressed their emotions through song last year. 😂😂

Your reactions are always so flawless and complete, I'm extremely happy you reacted to their We Lost the Summer, it's a song that hits hard and hits even harder at certain times. I think you have a lot of recommendation of content already so I won't give one today. I'd be cool to watch a guide of them, Idk if you usually film it or not, but that'd be awesome (Not all guides are great tho, maybe I should try to look for one to recommend it to you). Also I love this choreo and I watch the Halloween version a lot. They dressed up as zombies in suits and incorporated zombie movement in a "role play" kind of way. It's so satisfying and pretty.
