Justice Chalameswar put it in simple terms: 2% budgetary allocation for courts. It is well and good to praise the judge for being a great mind and give him koti koti vandanaalu. My guess is that he would be far happier if people paid attention to low budgetary allocation for building new court rooms. Increasing the number of courts and judges can change the business environment in the country and make the lives of people better. The least that such an important interview deserves is a discussion on the topic.

Hi Team, thanks for bringing this content to your viewers. A Small suggestion: please edit the thumbnail, instead of retired justice, add supreme court retired justice, initially I was bit hesitant to watch, assuming can be any other retired justice but not from highest judiciary system.

It is a very good interview. I do not agree with many comments that the interviewer is not competent . She did her home work and did very well. But while quoting sections, say 66, she should have explained what that section stands for. I took time to viewers to know what it is I am glad that this interview gives an opportunity to have more insight in to the personality of Sri Chalameswar about whom we have been seeing only in some news clippings. I liked his stand on GOD which is in line with the essence of upanishads. For all the questions he gave matured replies and most important with great humility. He brought good name to telugu community like justice chinnappa reddy Though not directly related to this interview I feel that a lot should be done in the direction of number of cases pending in highcourts. Small litigants are helpless. Cases filed in 2002 are languishing without coming for hearing though listed for final judgement as back as 2006. Why not a law that without judgement on 2005 cases, judgement on 2006 cases should not be given?. Some arrangement should be made for the clearance in chronological order. I know one judge who is a judge now in a very big court who instructed the registrar not to post to his bench old cases but should post only fresh cases. In fact my case was delayed because of that judge and it has not seen the light of the day even now. Persons like Chalameswar may help the present Governments to find ways to expedite judgements.

If you have to interview a jurist like justice Chalameswar, you need to read his judgements. And you need to study socio economic and political issues involved vis a vis constitutional and legal provisions. If IJS (INDIAN JUDICIAL SERVICE) comes in india like other all india servises like IAS..IPS..IES...then the real indepence in judiciary we can expect...to become a JFCM one has to face exam regading nearly 30 major and minor acts...to become a ADJ one has to face exam regarding nearly 25 major and minor acts but to become justice in HC no exam...thats why this situation in INDIA.....
