I am a retired plasterer superintendent, from Seattle. My wife is from Siaton. We are older around your guys ages. 🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪 We have a house in Balugo Dumaguete and a home just past Siaton. To stop the cracks, do 2 coats and wet the walls down with water for 2-3 weeks after second coat. The walls dry to fast.

Greg and Wilma, you really have a healthy environment full of anti oxidant from the green trees around. The air you breath must be very fresh and clean.

I fractured my left heel in 2007 and I couldn't walk on it at all. A few weeks later had surgery, 2 plates and 11 titanium screws and around 6 weeks of not even putting pressure on it. Slow recovery process, still hurts if I am on it for long periods. Hope yours is not broken! Thanks for all the updates. We are heading to Samar next Sunday to spend 2 1/2 weeks with my wife's family and hopefully be able to look for some properties for a future move there.

If you wait too long to do an x ray, you could be doing more damage to your heel. What wouldve been a simple cast and pain medication might end up becoming full blown surgery.@@buildingthephilippines

What do you think will be different between the metal in his wall and what you used to be in your wall? Do you anticipate his to rust and require frequent painting?
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 2 ай бұрын
Not sure what you mean? The rebar in the walls or the metal in the roof rafters?
@smellard63
@smellard63 2 ай бұрын
@@buildingthephilippinesI was referring to your front wall and how you replaced the metal with hollow blocks. I thought part of the reason was the need to repaint it so often. I was wondering about your neighbors use of the metal in the fence so they have a view.
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 2 ай бұрын
@smellard63 oh OK, it's a personal choice. I have not found any type of paint that lasts. Metal fades quickly, starts to rust as well as stain the concrete below it. We decided to replace with concrete. More privacy and less maintenance.

A question about the septic in the carport. Is there any problem with smell when it’s operating?

Hopefully it doesn’t smell. I’m not a plumber, but I’ve smelt some pretty pungent septics, so I’m a bit curious about having it close to the house entrance. I assume the waste is stored for collection when it’s full. Although I suppose they could have a leech field in their tree area next door.

With the limited sunlight over the past week, have you been getting enough solar to recharge your batteries and run your necessities during the day and batteries last the evenings?
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 2 ай бұрын
Out of 6 days, the battery got to 100% 4 of 6 days. The other 2 days, we got to 82 and 86%. We simply turned on the generator once the sun goes down for less than an hour and that takes the battery to 100% easy peasey.
