Even crazier.....Historical CD Rates: 1965 to 2024 a three-month CD yielded 18.65% in August 1981. Additionally, the snippet from “CD Rates Over Time” mentions that in March 1980, six-month CD rates averaged 17.74% APY, and in August 1981, the rate rose to 17.98% APY.
