The dev team has not taken sound consistency as a thing. The Lima can hear from miles. Train whistles can't be heard from the back of trains. Each engine is different ranges. They DID increase the range of the coupler, but it should be even more.

lol I had to retire my new Ruby Basin to engine shed today as well on series x because it wouldn’t couple to anything 😂 A engine to avoid on console atm. Looks good though I’ll use it when things get ironed out

I had this problem too, you have to turn off automatic couples and use link and pin, I’m assuming you also have problems with coupling to bigger freight cars with new locos, turning off automatic couplers will help with this too, hope this helps!

@ Yeah that’s what I have been doing switching manual to auto and back resetting game etc gets most things clicked in eventually but Ruby particularly stubborn. And yeah large cars I mostly stick a small on front to get around that but it’s very dependant on the loco and cars combo I find some are more likely to take the pin quicker than others. You only find out when you buy them and try that’s the problem on console atm so it’s stick to what you know works or take a risk buying something new for first time.

This map must be super flat. My Ruby on Aurora is lucky to handle a 10 car train generally only 6-8. But I have 2½-4% grades all over
