Happy to see that you weren't afraid to say it. I wanted to buy a 3d camera so bad so instagram's marketing targeted me with this camera as soon as they could and I was almost hooked, then I saw the price...I could probably take the risk on buying two untested 3d cameras on ebay for the same price and not only get the nostalgia but better results.

so the flash exposure issue is, i believe, is a bit of an inverse square law issue. with the closest frame being the brightest and the furthest starting to fall off. thats the only thing i can think of. with that all said, these photos, as the kids would say, are a vibe. if you have $100 bucks (though it's 65 on amazon) id say get it. as a wedding photographer these are gonna be super fun for the reception.

As a person who bought one...I agree. I happily own a nishika that I got for $20 a year ago, I bought the Reto3D because of the on-camera flash,...and well, you nailed that bit in the video about exposer. It is a fun camera. Yet, I feel that this trend '3d aesthetic' is becoming more and more overused, and with that, the demand goes up...and shit products like this comes up. Hopefully, in the future we can get newer film cameras that don't feel like plastic toys with a heavy price tag.

Nice video! And yeah the Reto looks really cheaply made and there definetly making a profit out of it (hopefully) and filled a gap with a growing demand coming from hipsters, and big brands using 3D film cameras... But yeah the twist is you gotta use a 3D camera the only way it looks good: with a subject near your lens! if the subject if more than 2M away the """3D effect""" will look pathetic... On the contrary any object coming towards the camera will give you good result, especially at night... ( 3min45 being a real good example...) So yeah, it's a toy, and it only does well under condition... But for now it is the cheapest way to do it, at least on film...

HaHa, this reminds me of the Yashica something or other that came out last year. It was a digital camera that looks like a Yashica range finder film camera. A company in Hong Kong bought the Yashica name and produced a pile of plastic shit of a camera. The worst thing was that people paid up front for it before it was even produced. It was the biggest con ever. There have been many videos made about it where people have opened it up bit by bit, and shown what utter plastic crap it was.

I own a Nimslo. The images aren't Ansel Adams quality, but they look good when seen in a viewer. I took it to Europe in 1991 and haven't looked at the images for a very long time. I took my Nimslo album out the other day. It was amazing - and now the thing's a collector's item? I didn't see THAT coming! Time to load it up and put it back to work! That said, you'd think that today, nearly three decades later, someone would have figured how to make a decent and affordable digital 3D camera - or at least a film camera that isn't a step down from something made when Queen was still making albums.

Don't understand what you're complaining about. Looks about average for a plastic camera in this price range, and the image quality looks about the same as what you'd get with a Nishika N8000, which retails used for around the same price but doesn't include a flash, though it does give you one more lens.
@jamstills5 жыл бұрын
It's like £100, I've bought plenty of plastic cameras for ten times as less. That are a hundred times better quality than this. Cameras like the n8000 are equally as poor quality but they were made years ago and they're no longer made. The reto is being manufactured today, which means there is an abundance of them
@ggambidt78403 жыл бұрын
I think you just don't understand how to take VR photos. the subjects are all super far away and most of them have no centered object to portray the 3d effect. i looked at your portraits you pinned here as well and you have a solid color backdrop with what seem to be studio lights, but with no shadow relief? does this make any sense or did you just buy a "cool camera" and think it'd magically make you a photographer? dang. i need to find a real review on this thing before i make my own. one good shot at 3:46
