Wow!! This is old! I was actually working that day and heard myself on the radio as #5018 and am still driving to this day. I miss being able to hear my fellow drivers on the radio. They took all the radios out when Covid hit but now if we absolutely have to we can call a bus on the phone but I never use it. If I have a breakdown or something happens, I just use my cell phone to call my dispatch.

If I'm not mistaken, the bus model you're riding on is the 40ft Gillig Advantage Low Floor bus.

@@Landontobotv appearently i was wrong they are 40 footers its just im use to seeing 3 windows before the rear door which means its a 35 foot. But the 40 foots normally have 4 windows before the rear door

1) he drives slow as the grass grows 2) you can stand, so long as you stand in front of the white standee line "sit down please" is stupid. 3) his driving position looks terrible, tilt the steering wheel back, you'll be more comfortable, and have more control All from bus driving experience and I'm only 20 years old.

I can imagine it's something similar city buses have over here: GPS unit that establishes a connection to Operations Control and also operates the headsign and gives informations about upcoming routes/tasks.

it's probably for the "Mobile Data Terminal", probably gets messages from dispatch and tells him his position against the other buses on the route and maybe where to go.

+palmbeachman22 It's officially called Magic in Motion, Disney introduced it in 2010. It activates the announcements at a certain point along the route and when the driver punches his next code in, it updates the headsign.
