Actually Country music existed before 1904 in Kikuyu land. It was called Gicandi in southern Kikuyu. In the upper regions towards Meru, it was called Kirarire

I feel like this documentary (if it is a documentary), fails to make a connection between Gikuyu Music and country music. Yes, Jimmy Rogers had his influence but the lyrics, style, dancing, genre, all reflected authentic Gikuyu music passed on from generation to generation. It's good to reflect reality in documentary production.
